I think Day-Lewis could have been more versatile if he wanted to be but he was more picky with his projects.

I think Daniel has the more accomplished career but I enjoy how Oldman does more fun movies like 5th element and Harry Potter. I would have loved to see day-Lewis attempt to do some more fun roles like that

It’s quality over quantity any day. Compare two best roles. Daniel Plainview and Stansfield.

Both tremendous talent but there’s a clear winner, I drink your milkshake.

Oldman, mainly because I've only ever seen one DDL movie and honestly don't remember much of it.

DDL and I don’t think Its close, but I do love GO

Day-Lewis always seem to "act" on the border of overacting. I never feel he populates the character, he just gives an theatrical approximation. You always see Day-Lewis on the screen. He reminds me of the theatrical way Laurence Olivier played characters at the start of his career. I do not really follow the popular view that he is an extraordinary actor.

Oldman on the other hand disappears in his characters completely. You almost forget it is him and it is remarkable how effortless he makes it look. He truly is remarkable but not unique. There are several actors who are just as good.
