Has anyone been through the "Scared Straight" program and it actually helped them?
I've been watching the show lately and thinking to myself that it's gotta be a successful program, although it's probably pretty traumatizing! Also curious if anyone has been through it and thought it was a joke and just went on to a life of crime.

My neighbour's kids did an outreach program for at-risk youth. Camps and that sorts of thing.
14 and 12yr old started selling drugs shortly after, not sure about the younger ones.
Dang. That's so hard to deal with. It's gotta be heartbreaking to have such troubled kids!
I wouldn't be surprised if mum was getting a % of the profits.
I've read about somewhat local parents getting their kids onto meth, so that it'd be easier to get kids into crime.
Yeah, I've heard of this too. I used to know a lady that worked for the Los Angeles foster care system and she told me there were generations of drug dealers and prostitutes in the same family. She knew of several families like that.
Yeah, sometimes it's hard to believe that there are people like that out there.
