r/PreWarBlues
For blues and related music recorded prior to 1941, with a degree of wiggle room when it comes to artists who recorded either side of the war. Rough and ready post-war material on minor labels that follows the form of pre-war music gets around this. My place, my rules. Posts, comments and questions welcome. No contemporary covers of pre-war material, please.

Nothing tastes better than a shot of Beam chased by a drag.
Can’t see that guy without thinking he got away with murder.
I heard after a few Swigs they both ended the night at a hotel down the street.
10-4 on the Beam swill status! Combo of brackish water, burnt plastic and fresh licked ashtray! American classic
Cirrhosis and lung cancer. Generation after generation.
Bette fared better drinking with ol’ Wagner than Natalie.
Were they drinking Jim Beam the night Natalie Wood went into the water?
No, just an attempt to insert something that has nothing to do with the post. 🤦
Are you saying that Robert KILLED Natalie?
I’m saying they were drinking at least.
Awesome.
The mere smell of Jim Beam induces my gag reflex. Threw up WAYYYYYY to many times at 21 from drinking it to where now the smell of it will almost make me puke.
Honestly that's the worst whiskey I've ever tried. The CVS store brand was better
Yeah, it’s garbage
Wagner looks like Jim Bakker
Bob's certainly beaming.
This is probably around the time of the “Madame Sin” tv movie.
how she got Bette Davis eyes
The secret to Bette Davis longevity.
I read ol' Betty smoked 4 packs a day. No wonder she had the photo with a cancer stick in the ad, she smoked nonstop from the minute she woke up to the minute she went to sleep.
Bette Davis with the lung dart. Legend.
I think Bette looks very good in this picture, and the cigarette is well-placed as it was a common accompaniment to Jim Beam in that era.
I guess I never seen Jim Beam as a classy drink. It was our go to under 21 drink in the 80’s. It was easy to find.
Natalie deserved better.
Goes great with a cigarette.
You selling?
that ad copy is atrocious. who wrote that shit?
Trash whiskey!! 10 $ a bottle…. lol! It’s for rednecks and teenagers
He had to bang hecto get the gig
Notice how nowhere in the ad does it say anything about being 21 and drink responsibly. They just didn't GAF back then
I’d gladly have a shot of JB with Captain Wagner after a successful voyage.
