Q&A
Have no fears, they'll have stories for years
How about a crazy wedding where something happens and...err...
Isn’t there something else on? Like maybe something with an Evil Island??
I would rather they go to Candy Apple Island
What do they have there?
I am a new tie wearing.
It’s just a name, it’s actually a peninsula
I’d hazard to guess it’s a crazy wedding.
Has Marge been a robot yet?
And will Moe finally get a cell phone!?
Yes Bart sent him a text from IM Weiner
Has Bart ever owned a bear?
There was a whole episode about fucking iPhones so kinda.
Who fucked an iPhone?
Maybe
Probably!!
Yes actually. In Thanksgiving of Horror she got replaced with an AI.
season 31
Didn't Artie riff make one?
Ziff
It's Ziff?! I've been calling him Crandall!
Stupid sexy autocorrect..
Once Artie Ziff made a bunch of robot duplicates of her.
Treehouse of horror there was AI marge that controlled tge kitchen.
Does that count?
And if those pesky voice actors die, we don't have to pay them.
Smithers, is the AI replacements ready?
And no one can tell the diddily-difference!
Except for the night of efficient German sex, that left a few questions.
That was just the new tie wearing.
Well I sure don’t feel like cooking
Do the AIs also taste like a peanut when you kiss them?
Hello, Smithers. You're quite good at turning me on!
Nobody expected that to be a threat at the time.
Maybe Moe gets a cellphone. Has Bart ever owned a bear?
at this point, for the show to stop several irreplaceable people are going to have to die.
A.I. will replace the voice actors .... it'll never die
AI will also replace the writing. Actually, that might be an improvement.
People who say this haven't watched the Simpsons on at least five years.
For real. Something started happening around 27, and by 32 at least, it was in full swing. Something came back or was reborn, and people should give it a chance
I watch a couple of episodes a season and am usually disappointed. Serious Flanders is the only worthwhile one I’ve seen in probably 15 years if not longer.
I watched the premiere of this season and just felt insulted.
I find the lack of Alf Clausen’s music to just make the show seem soulless.
The writing is still on the nose, non sensical or is just flat out not funny.
The voice acting is uninspired or flat out awful with the exception Yeardly Smith.
Sound design is not inventive or funny like the old episodes. Feels very slapdashed together.
It just feels like no effort is put into the show from a creative standpoint anymore. Very by the numbers with the exception of maybe a Halloween episode or the occasional one off episode that actually comes out ok.
Boom roasted
Honestly it might be better if they made an ai for each person and let them interact.
Lateral move
Looks like those clowns in Congress did it again. What a bunch of clowns.
Yeah I guess Marge will actually become a robot
Julie Kavner sighs a deep, gravelly sigh of relief. Her suffering is finally over.
Haw haw?
I mean, James Earl Jones sold his voice rights for Star Wars etc. I’m a little shocked more iconic voices haven’t done the same.
Can we get AI Marge like six seasons ago then? That voice sounds legitimately painful to do at this point and bingo hall Marge isn’t it
Honestly the voices are a big reason I don’t watch anymore. If we could get AI to copy the season 3-14ish voices across the board I wouldn’t be upset. As long as the voice actors get paid of course.
They can even replace the entire writing staff with AI. If anything it'd be an improvement.
Is it okay if AI can do the voice of Apu? Can we get him back?
The Simpsons a hundred years! A hundred years The Simpsons! A hundred years, Morty, er, Bart!
I support this.
Stories for years! Doo Doo Doo Doo do do doo
If the Looney Tunes can go on without Mel Blanc, they’ll definitely keep this show going if a VA steps down.
That’s why most of the longest running shows/franchises in the world are animated.
Shearer voices half of Springfield and is 80. Marge’s voice actor is 73 and clearly struggles to do the voice.
I’m very happy that these voice actors have had such security in their jobs over the last 30 years and haven’t been thrown under the bus the moment somebody cheaper/younger came along but sooner or later they’re going to be gone. Even Mel Blanc as Bugs Bunny didn’t last forever.
I’d rather the show proactively plan for that than let it come as a surprise
I’m more amazed that after all these years not one of the main voice actors has decided to leave the show.
Our advice is to free us, or let us die!
Ann Landers is a boring old biddy.
You are more animal than man.
It was my first, and last, blackberry Schnapps
I always think it’ll be a shame if the show doesn’t get a really good finale before one of the main, big voice actors dies. Because, sadly, that is going to happen eventually
Going out on something as clever and grounded as one of the classic episodes rather than some epic finale could be somewhat poignant.
They should replace the voice actors now. There's such a disconnect between what Marge looks like and the elderly voice she speaks with.
I think they should redo the first ep, Simpsons roasting on an open fire, more or less the same but with a few references to how Springfield has changed over the years - would be quite a neat conclusion and put us all out of our misery
Could kill off Santa's Little Helper. It'd be heartbreaking of course but that'd be the point
I see what you're saying, even though the downvotes don't. The family can reminisce about SLH's life and mirror the first episode.
Marge sounds very elderly lately, to the point that it’s very distractive when trying to watch new episodes.
Marge had some moments in this week's episode that were ROUGH. To a point where I wouldn't be shocked if Julie Kavner actually had a cold for some of the recording. Burns.... oh Burns. We may have reached a point where Burns sadly can no longer be. It's not even the same voice, it's a completely different character. If I shut my eyes and listened to this seasons Burns, I wouldn't be able to tell if it was actually Burns or not
Yeah, I feel bad for kavner. She sounds like she's struggling with her voice. I sincerely hope she's not. But the voice is pretty rough.
I just listened to it to see what you mean and you’re absolutely right
I thought I was the only one. I watched a new episode recently and this is exactly what I felt. Sure some other characters sounded a little off or aged but Marge was absolutely the most noticeable. Made me quite sad
I have noticed her voice can sound older at times and sometimes it doesn’t. In this week’s Disney+ short her voice didn’t sound old. People have speculated that it changes depending on who’s directing at the time.
I don't have Disney+, but I watched the teaser for that special and it sounds like she's struggling to breathe.
My kids love the newer episodes and I’ll admit there’s some funny moments but overall it’s just not good. And the one thing I complain about when they watch it is Marge’s voice sounds more like she’s gargling rocks. No offense meant to Julie Kavner but it’s become hard to listen to.
If am being honest all of the voices sound tired and exhausted.
Noticeable for 10 years at least.
Homer and Bart still sound okay-ish my opinion. But they’re about the only ones.
What about Lisa? She’s sounded exactly the same all along.
Lisa is the only who has barely ever changed. Bart and Homer are starting to sound weirdly tired to me. And marge is straight up painful at times.
Last 20.
Mr Burns too
Well...older than usual anyway
That'll be because the person voicing him is now 80.
So he’s still got another 40 years until he matches the age of the character he plays, we’re good!
And he also largely stopped caring 20 years ago.
That’s because Kavner IS elderly now. She will be 74 this year
It's been that way for a while. She sounds like her mom or Selma and Patty. Homer also notably sounds aged
It's harsh on Kavner's voice.
that's basically her normal voice. she's been in movies and on tv, it's always been rough and gravelly
She strains her voice, doing marge because it's high. Patty and Selma sound the same.
I don't care how good the latest episodes might be, Julie's voice iss painful to listen to. Marge is probably my favorite and I just can't listen to it.
