Usher, Solange and Travis Scott Albums Launch Apple Music’s Top 100 Best Albums of All Time list

Published

on

Apple Music today announced the release of its 100 Best Albums of all time, a celebratory list of the greatest records ever made, crafted by Apple Music’s team of experts alongside a select group of artists, including Maren Morris, Pharrell Williams, J Balvin, Charli XCX, Mark Hoppus, Honey Dijon, and Nia Archives, as well as songwriters, producers, and industry professionals. The list is an editorial statement, fully independent of any streaming numbers on Apple Music — a love letter to the records that have shaped the world music lovers live and listen in.

Apple Music is bringing its 100 Best Albums to life with a countdown celebration beginning today, revealing 10 albums each day for the next 10 days, along with a brand-new 100 Best microsite, new and exclusive content, dedicated Apple Music Radio episodes, and so much more. The countdown will culminate on the final day with the reveal of Apple Music’s top 10 albums of all time during a broadcast radio special.

“100 Best brings together all the things that make Apple Music the ultimate service for music lovers — human curation at its peak, an appreciation for the art of storytelling, and unparalleled knowledge of music and an even deeper love for it,” said Rachel Newman, Apple Music’s senior director of content and editorial. “We have been working on this for a very long time, and it’s something we are all incredibly proud of and excited to share with the world.”

“Putting this list together was a true labor of love, both in that it was incredibly difficult to do and in that we are all so passionate about it,” said Zane Lowe, Apple Music’s global creative director and lead anchor for Apple Music 1. “We were tasked with selecting the 100 best — that’s practically mission impossible. But as music fans, it was also amazing to really take a minute and sit and think about the music and albums and artists that we love so much in this context. If this list sparks more debate among fans outside of Apple Music and gets people talking passionately about the music they love, then we’ve done what we set out to do.”

Introducing the Top 100 – 91 Albums

The first 10 albums, revealed today, offer a glimpse into Apple Music’s unique approach with 100 Best. With seven of the 10 records hailing from the 21st century, two from the 90s, only one from the 70s, and various genres represented, the list spotlights contemporary artists like Tyler, The Creator; Robyn; Lorde; Travis Scott; Solange; Burial; and more who have helped define this century through their music and its influence on others.

100. Body Talk, Robyn
99. Hotel California, Eagles
98. ASTROWORLD, Travis Scott
97. Rage Against the Machine, Rage Against the Machine
96. Pure Heroine, Lorde
95. Confessions, USHER
94. Untrue, Burial
93. A Seat at the Table, Solange
92. Flower Boy, Tyler, The Creator
91. Listen Without Prejudice Vol. 1, George Michael

“There are so many fun facts for our listeners to discover about these albums,” said Scott Plagenhoef, Apple Music’s global head of music programming. “For example, two of the records revealed today were promoted without the image of the artist, but for opposite reasons — Burial’s Untrue because the artist was still operating anonymously at the time, and George Michael’s Listen Without Prejudice Vol. 1 because the artist was actually retreating from fame.”

Discover, Learn, and Share with Friends

To accompany the list, today Apple Music also revealed a dedicated microsite that will update every day of the countdown, making it easy for listeners to follow along. Available now at 100best.music.apple.com, the new 100 Best microsite spotlights in-depth analysis of each album, archival interviews, and more, and makes it easy for fans to share their favourite albums with friends and on their social channels.

Fans will also be treated to a full 100 Best Albums Radio takeover on Apple Music Hits, where round-the-clock specials with Apple Music Radio hosts and daily specials at 9 a.m. PT (noon ET) will be broadcasted, plus exclusive content will drop every day on demand on Apple Music and Apple Podcasts.

The last 10 albums will be revealed on Wednesday, May 22, with a special roundtable discussion broadcasting globally on Apple Music that features guest artists Nile Rodgers and Maggie Rogers reflecting on the list alongside Apple Music’s own Zane Lowe and Ebro Darden. Lowe will also curate a special mashup-style DJ mix featuring songs from all 100 Best Albums.

Apple Music will keep the momentum going after the countdown ends with an additional week of 100 Best Albums Radio takeover on Apple Music Hits.

All 100 Best Albums recipients will be given an award comprised of blasted anodized aluminum, sourced entirely from recycled Apple products, in a unique polished PVD gold. The design on the back of the award takes its cues from a vinyl LP record and is inscribed with the artist’s name, the album title, and the album’s year of release.

The history of Bayer Leverkusen

Published

The history of Bayer Leverkusen

Bayer 04 Leverkusen Fußball GmbH, commonly known as Bayer Leverkusen, is a professional football club based in Leverkusen, North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany. When making safe online sports betting from 1xBet, you will see that Leverkusen’s matches are covered too.

Founded on July 1, 1904, the club is best known for its football team, which

competes in the Bundesliga, Germany’s top tier of football. Bayer Leverkusen was established by employees of the pharmaceutical company Bayer AG, which is reflected in the club’s name and logo. There is online sports betting at 1xBet that can also be made in a safe manner on great Bundesliga matches as well.

Climbing to the top ranks

Bayer Leverkusen spent many years in the lower divisions of German football. Their fortunes changed in the 1970s when they earned promotion to the Bundesliga for the 1st time in 1979. The club’s debut season in the top flight was challenging, but they managed to establish themselves as a Bundesliga mainstay. The line bet on 1xBet has many German football competitions too.

The 1980s and 1990s marked Bayer Leverkusen’s rise in European football. One of the club’s greatest achievements came in 1988 when they won the UEFA Cup, defeating Espanyol in a thrilling final. The club secured a dramatic victory, overcoming a 3-0 deficit from the first leg to win 3-0 in the return leg and triumphing 3-2 on penalties. The betting line on 1xBet also covers wagers on European football tournaments too.

Leaving the “Neverkusen” name behind

The 2001-2002 season is particularly memorable for Bayer Leverkusen. Under the management of Klaus Toppmöller, the team reached some incredible milestones. If you want to wager on Leverkusen’s matches, you can go to the https://www.1xbet.ng/en/live/football website and see the live wagering options available. They included:

  • finishing 2nd in the Bundesliga;
  • reaching the final of the DFB-Pokal (German Cup);
  • and the final of the UEFA Champions League.

However, they lost all 3, earning the unfortunate nickname “Neverkusen.” In the Champions League final, they were defeated 2-1 by Real Madrid, with Zinedine Zidane scoring a famous volley. The Champions League is another competition available at the 1xBet website.

In recent years, Bayer Leverkusen has remained a competitive force in both domestic and European competitions. The club’s emphasis on youth development has produced several notable players, including Michael Ballack, Bernd Schneider, and Toni Kroos. The club’s youth academy, considered one of the best in Germany, has been instrumental in nurturing talent.

Finally, after a long wait, Bayer Leverkusen won their 1st Bundesliga title ever in the 2023-24 season.

EXCLUSIVE: Dolly Parton Gives Her Take on Beyoncé’s Country Album

Published

on

Dolly Parton’s praise of Beyoncé‘s “Jolene” cover is beautiful beyond compare.

And while this admiration is something fans can easily understand, the “9 To 5” singer recently shared why she appreciates Queen Bey’s new take on the classic for Cowboy Carter.

“Well, I think it was very bold of her,” Dolly told E! News’ Keltie Knight and Justin Sylvester during an exclusive interview at Dollywood’s new Dolly Parton Experience in Pigeon Forge, Tenn. “When they said she was gonna do ‘Jolene,’ I expected it to be my regular one, but it wasn’t. But I love what she did to it. And as a songwriter, you love the fact that people do your songs no matter how they do them.”

And she tips her hat to Beyoncé’s new lyrics.

“She wasn’t gonna go beg some other woman like I did,” the 78-year-old continued. “‘Don’t steal my man.’ ‘S–t, get out here, b—h. You ain’t stealin’ mine.’” (For more with Dolly, watch E! News on Monday, June 3 at 11 p.m.)
But if you’re still wondering what Dolly thinks of Cowboy Carter overall, she’ll have to have this talk with you so she can make her kudos clear.

“I was very proud of her album,” the 10-time Grammy winner added. “I thought she did a great job in country music, and I thought it was great. And I was just happy she did ‘Jolene.’ I, of course, would have loved to have heard how she would have done it in its original way. But of course, you know, it’s Beyoncé. Yeah, her life is different than mine.”
For Cowboy Carter, Dolly—who also showed some love on social media after the album’s release—recorded a message that plays right before “Jolene” titled “Dolly P,” and she’s featured on the song “Tyrant.”

And if you’re begging her, please don’t take out any details on her behind-the-scenes communication with Beyoncé, allow the “Here You Come Again” artist to share some insight.

“We communicated when the album came out, when I was doing some of the little things to put on the album,” Dolly said. “And we were sending each other flowers and little love notes and all that. So, yeah, it’s all good.”

So good, in fact, that she said she’d be up for performing “Jolene” with Beyoncé at the 2025 Grammys if Cowboy Carter gets nominated.

“Why of course I would—if I’m available, if I’m not caught up in something I cannot get out of, yeah, that’d be wonderful,” Dolly noted. “I mean, who wouldn’t wanna sing ‘Jolene’ with Beyoncé?”

Afronitaaa and Abigail place 3rd in Britain’s Got Talent!

Published

on

Ghana’s dance duo, Afronitaaa and Abigail placed 3rd in the Britain’s Got Talent Series 17 on Sunday.

The duo came third after Jack Rhodes and Sydnie Christmas who came second and first respectively. There were 10 finalists, including a choir, a magician, a Ghanaian dancing duo and a Japanese skipping group.
But Sydnie Christmas took the top prize, ahead of Jack Rhodes in second and dancers Abigail & Afronitaaa in third.
The judges of the ITV show, Simon Cowell, Bruno Tonioli, Alesha Dixon and Amanda Holden, returned for one last time this series, alongside hosts Ant and Dec.
The winner of the 17th series of BGT receives a cash prize of £250,000 and the chance to perform at the Royal Variety Performance.
Public votes were open during the live show, with viewers at home encouraged to have their say.
Singer Christmas burst into tears after she was announced as the winner of Britain’s Got Talent.
She said: “I don’t know what to say, I cannot believe the amount of love that I’ve felt.
“I am overwhelmed with love and it’s the most amazing thing and I wish every person in this room feels the way I do with this love, it’s amazing, thank you so much.”

Cheerleaders proud of Britain’s Got Talent show
The series has, as ever, been filled with spectacular talent and incredible acts.
A magician who used to film parody videos of auditioning for Britain’s Got Talent is one of the show’s finalists.
Jack Rhodes, from Ulverston, Cumbria, earned a spot in the ITV programme’s grand final by impressing the audience and judges with his crate of death stunt.
He was described as “now the favourite to win the entire competition” by Cowell.
But he faced stiff competition, including from winner Christmas and a Northamptonshire singing group.
Northants Sings Out passed the semi-final stage after a split decision by the judges meant the public had the last say. It took them one step closer to becoming the first choir to win BGT.
Comedian Alex Mitchell and magician Trixy were the last two acts to make it through to the final, after a tense semi-final show on Friday.
Mitchell won the most public votes, after a stand-up routine which saw him poke fun at his autism and tics.
The judges then had to decide who they would put through to the final between the second and third most popular act, as voted for by the public.
Trixy won the majority of the judge votes after his performance which included mathematics, and he therefore went through, beating musicians Stefan & Denise.
The full list of BGT finalists were:

Singer, Innocent Masuku
Ssaulabi, Performance Troupe
Magician, Jack Rhodes
Double Dutch group, Haribow
Singer, Sydnie Christmas
Singing Impersonator, Mike Woodhams
Dancing duo, Abigail & Afronitaaa
Choir, Northants Sings Out
