Accused Season 2 will return in the fall (and Michael Chiklis will return)

When Accused wasn’t included in the spring lineup for Fox, we worried a little bit. The good news is Accused Season 2 is still happening. It’s just getting a small delay due to last year’s strike action.

Instead of making it into the 2023–2024 season, the series has been held for the next TV season. It’s not alone, as Fox opted to push back 911 Lone Star Season 5 to fall 2024 as well. Accused Season 2 will start filming this summer, and now we know it will return in the fall.

Accused Season 2 will air on Tuesdays

The Fox fall schedule is out, and Accused Season 2 will air on Tuesdays. This is the same night at the first season aired on, but it’s going to be on at the earlier time of 8 p.m. ET/PT. The series is acting as a lead-in to a new crime drama that we can’t wait to cover, Murder in a Small Town.

The timeslot can be a tricky one. After all, this timeslot goes up against CBS’s FBI.

Michael Chiklis returns in Accused, but as who?

While announcing the schedule, TVLine reports that Michael Chiklis will return in Accused Season 2. This is surprising as the series is an anthology show. Each episode follows different characters as they face trials. We don’t get to find out what they’re on trial for until we work through the episodes, and then we find out at the end if they’re found guilty or not guilty.

Chiklis was in the series premiere. He played a man on trial to see if he was negligent in his duties as a parent. His son was a high school shooter, and it turned out that Chiklis’s character had given his son the money to buy the guns for the shooting. He had no idea that was what the money was for. His son had told him he was going on a trip to Europe, and he was happy this was the case.

So, will Chiklis return as the same character? Or could we see him return as a new character for a different storyline?

Other stars of episodes include William H. Macy, Felicity Huffman, and Nick Cannon. There are no details of the episodes just yet. Usually, we get to see the storylines each week with the promos so the focus is on the trial of the week.

Accused will air Tuesdays at 8/7c on Fox in fall 2024.
