Q&A
I love celebrities with crazy long names, one of my favorites is Kiefer William Frederick Dempsey George Rufus Sutherland.
All that and he chose to go by Kiefer.
I mean that is his first name lol. It’s not like it’s one of the middle names that he picked
That’s not his first name, that’s the preamble.
He's not "Kiefer", he's "william, the Kiefer"
Seriously?
You can use your middle name if you want, it’s your name.
Queefer Sutherland
Kiefer = jaw in my language lol
Maybe he meant to go by "pine" and didn't know Kiefer had two meanings - if we have the same language.
Is Rufus better?
He wouldn't have been cast as Jack Baur if he went by Dempsey Sutherland.
I mean it's cool though
I can't hear the name Kiefer anymore without hearing it in Barbara Evans' voice. KEEFAAAHHH
SMOKIN DA WEED WITH KEEEFAA
I used to have an extra Xbox gamertag named Reefer Sutherland, never used it but always made me laugh
Kiefer Snake
Dempsey Sutherland doesn't quite hit the same
You gonna be Dempsey or Rutherford instead?
Ralph Fiennes is another cool one! Ralph Nathaniel Twisleton-Wykeham-Fiennes. And his brother too, Joseph Alberic Twisleton-Wykeham-Fiennes.
Edit to add: Alexander Siddig's full name is Siddig El Tahir El Fadil El Siddig Abdurrahman Mohammed Ahmed Abdel Karim El Mahdi.
Arabic names, like many semitic naming conventions, go on basically forever with each additional name being the next paternal father in the family lineage, so it just depends on how many names the legal system requires for full identification. I wouldn’t necessarily call that his full name, though.
Don't forget about the famous painter Pablo Diego José Francisco de Paula Juan Nepomuceno María de los Remedios Cipriano de la Santísima Trinidad Ruiz y Picasso, or Formula One driver Carlos Sainz Vazquez de Castro Cenamor Rincón Rebollo Birto Moreno de Aranda de Anteriuga Tiapera Deltun.
Old Spaniards had this weird tradition of honoring anyone they liked by adding their names to their children. This includes names of relatives, friends, saints, religious symbols, locations, and occasionally, a name that they actually like.
It’s a bit weird but arguably less so than calling your child something generic like ‘David Smith’, and I love the idea of a child having both surnames, have adopted that custom for our boy.
He only had 24h to decide it.
It takes 24 hours to say that name.
WHERE'S THE BOMB?! WE'RE RUNNING OUT OF TIME
I want to name him after my brother.
Which one?
...
Which one hunny..?
Not his name, Akon is trolling.
How does he have all those names and not one of them for his Grandfather, Greatest Canadian, Tommy Douglas??
Better question is, why of all of Donalds kids, is Kiefer’s name the only one that’s long like this? Everyone else is first middle last.
“Lu Lu Lu, I got some apples. Lu Lu Lu, you got some too!”
“Let’s make some applesauce, take off our clothes and Lu Lu Lu.”
It's not his name akon is trolling.
All I can hear is AoE monks….
Wololo
Narwini
Hahahaha also the first thing that came into my mind when I saw the name 😂
Whoa, me too.
His name is my name too!
Whenever I go out the people always shout, "There goes Aliaune Damala Bouga Time Puru Nacka Lu Lu Lu Badara Akon Thiam ---- La la la la la la la!"
There goes Aliaune Damala Bouga Time Puru Nacka Lu Lu Lu Bad area Akon Thiam! Ya da da da da da da…
Has 9 kids, daym.
One for each of his names
DMX had 17.
That's how rough riders roll.
Y’all gonna make me act a fool.
They say that if you turn off the lights and say Aliaune Damala Bouga Time Puru Nacka Lu Lu Lu Badara Akon Thiam in the mirror 3 times, he shows up and gives you a Lambo Gillado
And a free copy of Tai Bo
Watch out though, he will possibly bend you over
*Gallardo
No one ever managed to do it so this myth has never been busted.
As if anyone has the time to say that name 3 times in a row.
I got shit to do.
And you gotta watch him smack dat, all on the floor
Idk what a lambo gillado is and I'm not sure I want to know.
Here you go
That's a Gallardo. Not a gillado.
Akon says it in a cool way like “wanna hop up in my lambaghini giiillado.”
And he shall say “Ni!” to you if you do not appease him.
It's not his name. Senegalese here. He is trolling you all.
I have no doubt. Still funny to liken the name to Bloody Mary tho
Spins Wheel** I would like to solve the puzzle
I am Senegalese, I speak wolof. And Akon is trolling foreigners. It's a bunch of nonesense with some wolof words. That is not his name. It's the biggest TROLL i have see and he is playing on people's ignorance.
First because most Senegalese don't speak english and would likely not come to even heard of this and the few who do probably do not get vocal enough.
Come on people, I know you all don't want to sound racist or uncultured by questioning this but Senegal is not hard to google and there is no name even close to that In our country or different cultural groups.
Upvote this please or spread the word. I keep seeing this, it's annoying a bit.
I remember akon bec he wanted to build his own city that runs on Acoin.
Lol yeah, but his City ain't happening 😭🥲
Too ambitious. He should have started with one residential tower and a commercial space below
Building a futuristic city in west Africa would have to be one of the most resource draining activities a human could attempt. Even an experienced and successful billionaire would struggle to make it happen. Akon's wealth is around 60 million dollars, and he has zero experience in anything even remotely like this, His entire wealth is barely enough to make a few sealed roads, let alone build a city.
The whole idea is laughably impossible.
You right !! Just a few things to add.
It's not even how hard it would be to make a futuristic city in west africa.
But rather that anyone who think that cities are built by anything other than governments and states fell for the self made man bullshit. Lmao. Any modern city would require state involvement, billionaires in Silicon valley like to take credit of having created a city, no one should believe them. Or sometimes suburbs etc. It all has government involvement.
Finally the examples that we have towns founded by X or Y in the pre industrial era, are more like villages that slowly grew into "cities" people attribute the creation to that guy cause it sounds cool. It's also usually a myth.
I mean that doesn't strictly mean that his parents can't have made a weird choice when naming him. Tupac was named after the last Inca, which had absolutely nothing to do with his heritage, and of course there are lots of examples of hippies (or famous people) who named their kids random bullshit because they thought it sounded better than a regular name.
Given that he was born in the United States in the 70's when there was a push for more "African" names it's not impossible for his parents to have made some kind of reach when naming him, even if I do ultimately agree that it seems unlikely.
Please no. I don't want to receive this type of answers. There is no maybe, or his parents could.
His name is Alioune Badara Thiam, maybe there is a fourth name in the mix.
This is like thinking that a chinese can be named : Chi cho chang chu chen, chai Zai ming... You see how offensive it sounds ? Yeah there is no maybe.
It's good to be open minded to other cultures and question preconceived notions but not to the point of believing a racist stereotype. You all being dumb for trying to understand or being devil advocates that this could be his real name. Akon is trolling you all by saying the most stereotypical sounds and pretending it's his name to see how far you all would believe him. Dama la bouga is not even a name, it means I like you. No, no one names their kid that despite the meaning.
It isn't and it's annoying.
The name Tupac may be of Incan origin, but it's definitely the type of name black people would give their kids!
Aliaune, Badara and Thiam yeah, the other don’t sound like Senegalese name at all
Tu viens d'où ? Joli nom d'utilisateur les anglos vont penser que c'est du beau français
"Franchement Ballek" hon hon hon
Haha j’suis de banlieue Parisienne, mais j’ai grandi avec pas mal de descendants de Galsen comme c’est le cas avec d’autres pays d’Afrique francophone.
Je vois, makes sense
Indeed. I only recognize Thiam as a possible surname from the area. I don’t know much, but if people there had kilometric names, pretty sure I would have heard of some in my in-laws’ Wolof family.
On the flipside, no matter the culture or language, some parents do give some insane names to their kids.
Whether or not the rest of your post is true, English is taught in secondary schools in Senegal and like most places on Earth, still has a fair amount of penetration just because of how popular the language is the world over. This isn't the 1950s anymore, you'd be hard pressed to find a place on Earth you could visit where the occasional English phrase or word is picked up- let alone someone whose parents are in the entertainment biz. His Dad performed at the White House with BB King. The only "English" word in there is Time and that's likely to be a clumsy anglicisation.
Regardless. Most senegalese don't have the proficiency in english to answer here. And it's even more slim when you know that reddit is barely used by Africans and Senegalese.
I know there are senegalese who knows english. Thanks for lecturing me 😂😭
I thought it was Mr. Lonely?
Bouga time is a better stage name than akon
I used to play Bouga Time on my Atori.
Lucky. I had to play it in the orcade.

Why you cry now?
Imagine trying to learn how to spell your name in first grade.
Sounds like something the Knights who say Ni would change their name into.
That's easy for you to say
