- Oleksandr Usyk shows off his good luck talisman as he travels for Tyson Fury fight
- Tyson Fury vs. Oleksandr Usyk 2 confirmed: Riyadh rematch slated for October
To many, Lennox Lewis is undoubtedly the last boxer to dominate the heavyweight division, even though someone else might be knocking on the door.
Tyson Fury might be on the verge of that, however, the legendary Lewis believes that for that to happen more has to happen that for Fury to beat Oleksandr Usyk this upcoming May.
Now, something important needs to be taken into consideration. There is a contract rematch with Usyk, but Anthony Joshua is waiting for his turn.
With that said, Lewis has analyzed what the future might look like with one of the most prominent boxers looking to become the best ever in the division.
"I aimed to be the No. 1 guy in the division and sport," Lewis said about the comparison. "Everything I did was leading up to this point, I wanted to be Olympic champion, so I went back twice to the Olympics. I wanted to be British champion, I wanted to be European champion, I wanted to be world champion, and my last thing was undisputed champion."
If Fury is able to secure dominance over Usyk, Joshua would be next and there is no scaping that matchup, especially if he wants to be the best in that boxing class.
Lewis is serious when it comes to voicing his opinion
Its true that Fury has a lot on his plate, but the fact is that there is no way anyone can say he is the one to beat if he never beats Joshua. And thats what Lewis is saying.
"He does need to fight him because it is a British thing," Lewis said. "Sure the British fans want to see that matchup. Throughout history that has always been the plan. There's always a big British fight between two enormous heavyweights.
