Hugh Jackman still has a few tricks up his sleeve! The Marvel star teases new things are in store for his character in Deadpool and Wolverine.
When it was first announced that Hugh Jackman would be returning for Deadpool and Wolverine, some fans were worried that the film would only serve to water down the emotional ending that was Logan. However, it seems Marvel isn’t pulling their punches when it comes to bringing his character back, with Jackman revealing he was able to do things he’s never done before in the upcoming film.
“There are different sides of Wolverine we haven’t seen before in the movies. It was exciting for me,” Jackman explained in a recent interview with Empire Magazine. “It’s great for Deadpool to have someone who will punch him in the face,”
It’s good to hear that Deadpool and Wolverine seems to be giving both leads equal weight, especially since many fans thought Hugh Jackman might’ve simply been a side character in what’s essentially Deadpool 3. This movie seems to be something Marvel has never done before, in more ways than one.
Hugh Jackman Speaks On Wolverine’s Iconic Costume
Hugh Jackman isn’t just getting new range in Deadpool and Wolverine; he’s also getting a new costume. After decades of fans begging, Jackman is finally donning the iconic yellow suit from the comics. It seems he loves it as much as the fans, saying that it felt perfect for his hero.
“We almost did it in The Wolverine,” Jackman told Empire when speaking of his iconic yellow costume in Deadpool and Wolverine. “But from the moment I put it on here, I was like, ‘How did we never do this?’ It looked so right, it felt so right. I was like, ‘That’s him.’”
Marvel isn’t just giving Hugh Jackman one yellow suit. Deadpool and Wolverine is set to give him multiple variations. Fans have already seen versions with and without sleeves, but leaked promo art shows off a cowl that has yet to be shown in footage. It seems the film may have more surprises in store than even Jackman could hype up!
