5 Pacific St, Watsons Bay is on a large 441sqm block.

Last traded in 1977, a famous film editor’s fisherman’s cottage in Watsons Bay — described as a “private paradise” — is going up for auction next Tuesday.

Records show the cute two-bedder on a decent 441sqm block at 5 Pacific St, just around the corner from Camp Cove beach and world-famous Doyle’s, is owned by Sara Bennett, who is known for Gallagher’s Travels (1987), Summer of Secrets (1976) and Summerfield (1977).

The first drama she assisted on was Skippy in 1969 with roles to follow on Jim Sharman’s Summer of Secrets (1974), Tony Buckley’s The Night Prowler (1977) and with George Miller (who owns a Watsons Bay beachfront) on The Dismissal (1983).

In 1994, she was appointed Head of Editing at the Australian Film and Television and Radio School.

It was not known what Bennett, who was once married to the prominent architect Andrew Andersons, bought the Pacific St cottage for.

But it’s now set to go under the hammer via Richardson & Wrench Double Bay’s Marion Badenoch and principal Michael Dunn with a $6.5m price guide.

The kitchen has every mod con.

The north-facing deck looks over a stunning back garden.

Described as a “private paradise”, the weatherboard cottage features interior lining boards, high ceilings and polished timber floors.

The house has been updated for modern living with a Corian island kitchen and open-plan living areas flowing to a north-facing deck overlooking the garden.

PropTrack advises no median house price is available in Watsons Bay due to there being so few sales. Just six properties have sold there in the past year.
