Why A'ja Wilson isn't ready to call the Las Vegas Aces a dynasty yet

When the 2024 WNBA season tips off on Tuesday, the Las Vegas Aces will be vying for a three-peat. The Aces’ recent dominance firmly places them in the dynasty conversation with the likes of the Houston Comets. Center A’ja Wilson acknowledges their success but isn’t quite ready to embrace the dynasty title just yet.

The Aces are the best team in the WNBA, and it’s not even close. The players know it, and the league’s general managers know it. Even other team fans have to admit that Las Vegas is building something special. Things are going so well in the desert that it’s hard for the Ace’s biggest star — a player who is already evoking GOAT accolades at 27 years old — to deny that Las Vegas will inevitably be thrust into dynasty talks.

Per Vinciane Ngomsi of Boardroom, this is what Wilson recently shared when asked if fans are witnessing a dynasty in the making:

“Yeah, I feel like we are,” Wilson confidently says. “We’ve got to win a lot more for me to say yes, we’re a dynasty. But yeah, I think we’re definitely forming a legendary locker room. When we look back on this, and there’s another growth in the W and people looking back, they’ll be talks like, ‘Y’all remember them, Las Vegas Aces,’ and you’re going to know exactly who they’re talking about.”
