Beverly, MA: For the first time in over twenty years, Bill Hanney’s North Shore Music Theatre (NSMT) will bring the beloved musical Fiddler on the Roof to the stage. This 60th-anniversary production will run from Tuesday, June 4, to Sunday, June 16, 2024. The production is sponsored by ASR Roofing Associates.

“Fiddler on the Roof” is one of the world’s most well-known musicals. NSMT owner and producer Bill Hanney, director Robert W. Schneider, and choreographer Josh Assor have assembled a stellar cast. Jeremy Radin stars as Tevye, bringing this classic story to life for audiences of all ages.

The musical follows Tevye, a poor milkman, and his five daughters in a tight-knit Jewish community. Tevye tries to uphold traditional values amid social changes and rising anti-Semitism in Czarist Russia. With a book by Joseph Stein, music by Jerry Bock, and lyrics by Sheldon Harnick, the show features timeless songs like “Tradition,” “If I Were a Rich Man,” “Sunrise, Sunset,” and “Matchmaker, Matchmaker.”

Since its debut in 1964, “Fiddler on the Roof” has been important in musical theatre history. It was one of the first musicals to address serious issues such as cultural identity, tradition, and change. The original production won nine Tony Awards, including Best Musical, and has been revived multiple times on Broadway and worldwide.
