Good news for gamers. After a long effort, Microsoft is finally going to launch its own game store called ‘Mobile Game Store’. If all goes well, the game store will be launched next July. Microsoft announced this recently at the Bloomberg Technology Summit.

Sarah Bond, president of Microsoft’s Xbox division, said the launch of the mobile game store will initially include Xbox games such as Minecraft and Candycrush. The mobile game store will also have games from other companies. The scope of the game store, accessible from all countries, will gradually be rolled out on a larger scale.

The mobile game store will be operated through a website instead of an app. As a result, Microsoft’s game store can debut as an alternative to Apple’s App Store and Google’s Play Store. Apple and Google take a commission of up to 30 percent of the revenue from other companies for selling games on the App Store and Play Store. According to market analysts, Microsoft can keep the amount of commission in its game store low to stay ahead of the competition.

Microsoft has been working on plans to bring a mobile game store for a long time. After acquiring Activision Blizzard in 2022, the company announced the launch of a mobile game store.
