Trump Posts Over-The-Top Sneaker Ad With Epic Movie Score And Bonkers Superhero Images — And No Sneakers
Former President Donald Trump took to social media the night before the biggest day of testimony in his criminal trial to post an ostentatious sneaker ad that had everything in it — an epic movie score, quick-cut images that included superhero illustrations, military photo-ops, and Mount Rushmore — but no sneakers.
After a week that featured over six hours of testimony from Stormy Daniels in the hush money-election interference trial, Monday will see the all-important testimony of former Trump attorney/fixer Michael Cohen — who will likely be cross-examined by Trump attorney Todd Blanche.
Blanche is expected to attack Cohen’s credibility, an issue the prosecutors will likely try to frame first on their own during direct examination. Cohen’s testimony and documentary evidence are the linchpin in the prosecution’s case that Trump’s alleged falsification of business records constitutes a felony plot to interfere in the presidential election.
Trump — who is subject to a gag order by Judge Juan Merchan that prevents him from attacking Cohen and others — spent the night before Cohen’s turn on the stand posting a flurry of feel-good clips and photos from his New Jersey campaign rally, Fox News legal commentary on one of his other criminal trials, Mother’s Day messages, an attack on Whoopi Goldberg, and the sneakerless sneaker video.
The Truth Social post reads “gettrumpsneakers.com” but the accompanying video never mentions or pictures any of the Trump-branded sneakers that were introduced a few months ago to derision from the media and proclamations from conservatives that Trump had found a new way to appeal to Black people because “They love sneakers!”
Instead, the clip features a very loud movie trailer-style score over a series of clips and images mixing Trump presidency nostalgia with rally moments and those bonkers superhero-style pictures that adorn Trump’s digital NFT “trading cards” and probably a mess of MAGA tattoos.
