James Stewart is the new president of Unifor Local 444

Unifor has announced that James Stewart is the new president of Local 444 following an election that took place May 8 and 9.

Unifor has announced that James Stewart is the new president of Local 444 following an election that took place May 8 and 9.

Stewart, who was previously secretary-treasurer of the local's executive board, replaces Dave Cassidy, who announced his retirement last month after six years in the post.

The union's members include workers at Stellantis Windsor Assembly Plant and feeder facilities, as well as Caesars Windsor.

Mike Stevenson, Mike D'Agnolo and Steve Morgan were acclaimed as first, second and third vice presidents respectively.

Manny Cardoso was acclaimed as secretary-treasurer, while Jon Binns was acclaimed as recording secretary.

The three trustees elected were:

  • Holly Cazabon
  • John Middleton
  • Dave Simone

The members at large were:

  • Brandon Alliet
  • Todd Laliberte
  • Frank Mosey

Ace Tasevski was acclaimed as sergeant-at-arms, while Layal Kurdi was acclaimed as guide.
