Bask in the Glow of the Good Vibrations Chorus/Vibrato!
If it’s tonal excitations you’re after, you’ve come to the right place. In celebration of “The Beach Boys” documentary on Disney+, JHS has hatched the Good Vibrations chorus/vibrato, a pedal channeling late-1960s sounds with a vintage bulb-driven circuit oozing with analog warmth and warble that would feel right at home onstage or in the studio with The Beach Boys. This landmark circuit opened up new sonic dimensions that challenged the early ’60s tone monopolies of tube bias tremolo and spring reverb. A retro rocker switch lets you toggle between two types of Good Vibrations. Chorus mode’s satisfying thickness helps you channel The Beach Boys’ legendary studio sessions and the age of audio psychedelia and sound-on-sound experiments that Brian Wilson helped usher in. Meanwhile, Vibrato mode is a faster, bolder warbling effect that bends pitch at the edges for a wave of funky flavor. In either mode, you control the rate/ speed, the depth/intensity, and the pedal’s overall output. The Volume control lets you add more muscle or adapt Good Vibrations to different instruments and rigs — it’s also a convenient way to offset perceived volume loss that deeper modulation settings sometimes introduce. Lastly, the Good Vibrations pedal features a silent soft-touch footswitch and a buffered bypass to guarantee stellar analog fidelity tones that put a smile on the faces of musicians and audiences alike. This JHS creation is available in extremely limited quantities while supplies last — be sure to grab your own commemorative ‘60s-inspired chorus pedal before it’s too late!

Need a lightbulb moment? Try this distinct ’60s circuit!
Pedals and effects define the core memories of many music fanatics. JHS’s passionate devotion to pedal history makes the company a worthy broker for The Beach Boys-inspired Good Vibrations pedal. The unit’s circuit is rooted in the 1960s, but its bulb-driven sound is virtually timeless. JHS Pedals founder Josh Scott first encountered bulb-driven circuits while attempting to re-create a Pearl Jam solo in the 1990s. Josh tried multiple modern chorus pedals, but no dice. “It never sounded exactly like that epic solo. Something special, something magical was missing,” Josh said.
That something special turned out to be a bulb-driven vibrato circuit that was developed in Japan. Before long, the watery swirls of this circuit sound burrowed into the ears and minds of millions through tracks from The Beach Boys, Hendrix, and countless others who continue following in their footsteps to this day. Josh’s own experience speaks not only to the uniqueness of this circuit, but also to the circuit’s enduring relevance to musicians of all stripes.
Sweetwater's Exclusive The Beach Boys Studio Effects Collection
Of all America's musical exports, few artists can match the enduring influence and legacy of The Beach Boys. Launching May 24, 2024, exclusively on Disney+, "The Beach Boys" documentary is an all-out celebration of how Brian Wilson, Dennis Wilson, Carl Wilson, Mike Love, and Al Jardine forever altered the trajectory of popular music. The thrilling film traces the band's journey from a sun-bleached California surf group to their standing as a cultural "teenage symphony" touchstone. From Surfin' Safari to Pet Sounds and beyond, viewers will learn how The Beach Boys developed their signature sound, explored new horizons in the recording studio, and raced neck and neck with the Beatles' most acclaimed artistic achievements along the way.
Still, here at Sweetwater, the documentary is only half the story. Much to the pleasure of our gear-obsessed fanatics, the band reached out to resident pedal expert/historian Josh Scott of JHS to curate a set of pedals and effects sonically inspired by the group's most iconic records. Josh then recruited Chris Benson of Benson Amps and Robert Keeley of Keeley Electronics into the fold. The resulting The Beach Boys Studio Effects Collection comprises five Beach Boys-themed pedals that are only available at Sweetwater. From a splashy tube-driven spring reverb/optical tremolo unit to 12-string simulators and Wrecking Crew-inspired bass channel strips, this collection will take your tone straight back to the days when "Good Vibrations" and "Fun, Fun, Fun" ruled the airwaves!
