On May 16, during the Magnum evening in Cannes, American actress Kelly Rutherford, known for her role as Lily van der Woodsen in “Gossip Girl,” stood out in an outfit that was both chic and very flirtatious. She wore a light pink dress dotted with delicate bows which she teamed with a pair of immaculate pumps, a bag in the same tone and a silk ribbon tied in her hair, the key accessory of the aesthetic “coquette core”. A very feminine movement which is characterized by angelic and poetic silhouettes, enhanced by a multitude of romantic details such as satin ribbons, pearl necklaces or refined bows. We saw the excitement around the trend gaining momentum on the catwalks for the spring-summer 2024 season, notably at Acne Studios, Simone Rocha, Patou and Zimmermann, but also on social networks. On TikTok the hashtag #coquettecoreoutfits has almost 60 million views, and on Pinterest, searches on the platform for “outfit with bow” increased by 190% at the start of 2024.
