I think he's doing fine, his analysis is usually spot on, even if it might feel too critical sometimes.
Tbh id rather have someone who actually played be critical vs the other lanky ass white guys(ender, uber, wyatt) criticize players as if theyre idiots to the game.

Wow...this will be the first LAN Pansy has ever missed, unless I'm misremembering. She'll be missed, there's no caster I associate more with great Valorant.
To be honest, with both Brenshow and Pansy/Panpoc missing, I'm a little worried about the level of casting. Still, Babybay/Doug have improved a lot, though, and honestly, it's early as hell but I've enjoyed the Wyatt/Uber casts if that somehow happened.
Of course, Mitch and Tom should be reliable as always. And maybe Chobra will get a shot, I've enjoyed his work a lot on the Pacific desk. RyanCentral is a long-shot but he deserves a chance to work the English-language broadcast for China, whether it's as a caster or desk talent.
I couldn't have said it better myself. The duos of Pansy/Hypoc and Bren/Sideshow will be very missed. I really hope we get Uber and Wyatt there. Achilios and Paperthin deserve their shot no doubt and I like them casting a lot. Mitch and Tom are always solid
This may be harsh but without the Pansy/Hypoc and Bren/Sideshow duos, I do think Valorant is missing their big game voices. Some casters just don't have the tone or voice for what I typically associate with a big match. Whether it's the tone, pauses, oration or scale, I think a lot of duos a missing the "it" factor. I think Uber has it for sure, just a matter of him and Wyatt building their chemistry
I agree. Quite a few promising duos that I thought had potential and staying power in T1 and T2 have just vanished.
Part of this is the classic Riot stuff, but a lot of it is just poor timing, such as in the case of Balla taking a step back to be closer to his family and so on.
As an ex-OWL fan, I have full faith in Achilios and/or Uber to deliver the same top-notch casting in Valorant as they did in OWL
All agreed. This will be the first time in the history of competitive Valorant that I don't watch an event from the official channel. It looks like I'll be watching one of the co-streams of Sliggy or Sean Gares or anybody else that actually offers commentary.
Brenshow are doing the plat chat couch costream iirc so that'll be fun
That combined with the fact that it’s streaming at the opposite of NA prime time means Chinese viewership might have to carry this event
I really hope paperthin and achilios are locked for shanghai, they’re my top 3 casting duos with panpoc and brenshow and it’d be sad if they don’t get a shot here

Achilios and Paperthin are very good, not rated enough, imo best hype casters in the game I will never forget NRG vs PRX from Tokyo

Yeah having both Panpoc and Brenshow missing is absolutely gutting, I share your concerns about the level of casting but at least Mitch and Tom are (hopefully) going who I really enjoy.
Great opportunity for Paperthin/Achillios too, I feel like they’re a bit underrated so there’s a good chance for them to have some big moments at this event.
I'm not really fully dialled in on OW anymore, but I have a feeling Uber isn't able to commit to travelling to China for 2 weeks since he still works on OWCS, as far as I'm aware. Not to mention the fact that he also has a family.

I dont think Babybay is that good tbh, I mean he has improved a lot but he feels more like a watchpartier than a caster at times. However, I would be more than happy to be proven wrong. We fans have been spoiled all of vct with BrenShow and PanPoc, it’s time we open up for new talents lol.
I think we have 2 duos that are the most likely to be in Shanghai, and that’s Mitch/Tom and Archillios/Paperthin, so 2 more are missing, really wondering who will step up.
Maybe if Babybay could stop talking about himself for two seconds and not say x player is “sooo good” he’d be tolerable to listen to. Currently he is not.
If Wyatt goes Ill listen to him cast and Ill ofcourse listen to Paperthin and Achilios but outside of that Ill probably be in costreams
I just checked, you are correct, there's an overlap with the OWCS major in Dallas the weekend of May 31st to June 2nd. I would imagine Uber is committed there but who knows. A Valorant major is probably the better opportunity for him but if he's already contracted for OWCS, then the point is probably moot. We'll probably get Doug and Babybay headed over there
Why aren't Brenshow casting?
I unfortunately cannot get into Wyatt’s casting. I think he’s great on the desk, interviewing, and doing content, but I think he’s too green as a caster still. Uber is of course S tier as always, though.

Him and dusT were absolutely robbed when they(?) didn't get their contract renewed or whatever it was that happened between last year and this year for them. I don't think they would've been the best T1 pair or anything, but they absolutely slapped it up in T2 casting last year so it's criminal what happened.
If Brenshow and Panpoc are missing Vansilli and Riv will have to be there right? Their casting has always been the most reliable in Americas to me after Bren/Sideshow but I guess it'll depend on if they know the teams outside of Americas

No one holds you responsible for the fact you can't attend, and no one would blame you for making the most of the situation as it stands. Obviously if you're not keen on the idea that's fine, but if you are then please don't feel conflicted about it. It's not harming anyone or the scene itself, and people would love to watch you :)

Doug I feel like has lucked out with babybay- he’s got a lot of growing to do but I like his chemistry with Doug more than balla. And I like balla.

i don't watch as much emea but i do enjoy the steel/pansy duo when i've listened... it's just more of the IPA/dark chocolate/dry wine of caster flavorings. a solid but acquired taste.
