SHOUT! Black Gospel Music Moments - Jessy Dixon

Jessy Dixon’s long career included one album produced and recorded with Andrae Crouch, It’s All Right Now.

Beginning as a young man, Jessy Dixon sang and wrote with some of the brightest stars in gospel music ... and continued to do so his entire career. He’s probably best known for his recording and touring with Paul Simon and their version of Andrae Crouch’s “Jesus is the Answer.”

But Dixon’s long career included a host of hits on his own, including “I Am Redeemed, “Touch Me, Lord Jesus,” and “The Wicked Shall Cease Their Troubling.” Andrae Crouch and the Disciples rbrn joined Jessy for an album’s worth of first-rate gospel songs, including this lovely track, “He’ll be Right There.” Dixon was still working with the popular Gaither Homecoming series right up until his death at age 73 in 2011.
