Mumbai Lok Sabha Election 2024 Highlights: With 13 constituencies—including the significant six seats in Mumbai—casting ballots in the fifth round of the Lok Sabha elections 2024 today, Maharashtra is the focus of attention.
This completes the state's voting process, which took place in five stages: April 19, April 26, May 7, May 13, and May 20. The date of the vote count is June 4.

There are around 2.46 crore voters who will select 264 candidates by casting their ballots. 24,553 polling places will be open for voting from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m in Maharashtra. 99,38,621 lakh voters from Mumbai's six Lok Sabha seats cast ballots this year.
Mumbai North, Mumbai North Central, Mumbai North West, Mumbai North East, Mumbai South Central, Mumbai South, Thane, Kalyan, Bhiwandi, Palghar, Nashik, Dindori, and Dhule are the Lok Sabha seats up for election in this phase.
In addition to lawyer Ujjwal Nikam from Mumbai North Central, the BJP has put up important nominees including Union ministers Piyush Goyal (Mumbai North), Bharati Pawar (Dindori), and Kapil Patil (Bhiwandi). In the race are city Congress president Varsha Gaikwad (Mumbai North Central) and Shrikant Shinde (Kalyan) of the Shiv Sena.
The opposition coalition consisting of the Shiv Sena (UBT), Congress, and NCP (SP) and the Mahayuti, which consists of the Shiv Sena, BJP, and NCP, are the primary rivals in Maharashtra. In the fifth phase, Mumbai, Thane, and Palghar are home to ten of the thirteen seats that are up for grabs.

Shiv Sena (UBT) president Uddhav Thackeray addressed a press conference in Mumbai on May 20. He said people are excited for voting but the slow and strenous process is resulting in low turnout. The people have turned up in huge numbers to vote but EC seems to be taking sides. EC representatives have not made proper arrangements for senior citizens, people are standing in queues for hours outside the voting centres and when they enter polling booth, it is taking too long to cast votes, alleged former Maharashtra CM Thackeray. EC representatives are checking and re-checking names and documents without reason and delaying the voting process.
Mumbai records less than 50% polling in all 6 seats till 5pm. Mumbai North West saw the highest turnout of 49.79% while Mumbai South continued to remain the lowest recorded turnout at 44.22%. Mumbai North recorded 46.91%, Mumbai North Central 47.32% turnout till 5 pm. Mumbai North East constituency and Mumbai South Central constituency witnessed 48.67% and 48.26% respectively

Mumbai is struggling to cross 40% voter turnout, state turnout at 38.77% at 3pm. Mumbai North records highest turnout of 39.33%, Mumbai North Central with 37.66% turnout, Mumbai North East sawturnout of 39.15%, Mumbai North West records 39.91%. Mumbai South witnessed lowest turnout in the city with 36.64%, Mumbai South Central saw 38.77% turnout.
