The 68th match of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 will see the Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) lock horns with the Chennai Super Kings (CSK) at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium on Saturday, May 18. The result of this contest will decide the fourth team that will make it to the playoffs.

Defending champions CSK are currently fourth in the standings with 14 points from 13 matches. A win here will confirm their berth in the playoffs. They can crash out of the tournament if they lose badly against the Royal Challengers tonight.

RCB, on the other hand, need to beat the Super Kings convincingly to reach the top four. Bengaluru have to win at least by a margin of 18 runs if they bat first. If they bat second and CSK post 200, the hosts will have to get to 201 with 11 or more balls to spare.

Speaking of the weather, there is a severe rainfall alert in Bengaluru on Saturday. According to Accuweather, there is approximately a 40 percent chance of rainfall on Saturday evening. Moreover, there are chances of thunderstorms around 10 pm IST.

Meanwhile, the temperature will hover around 27-28 degrees Celsius. However, the actual feeling will be a bit high due to high humidity levels.

"RCB will have to try to beat us off our plans" - CSK bowling coach Dwayne Bravo

Chennai Super Kings bowling coach Dwayne Bravo believes they will prepare well to contain an aggressive Bengaluru batting unit. The last time these two teams met in Chennai, the Royal Challengers posted 173/6 in their 20 overs, which was successfully chased down by the home side.

"We prepare well as a bowling group, we have very good plans. And tomorrow is no different, RCB will have to try to beat us off our plans. And if they do that, well played to them. But if they don't, then... next season for them," Bravo told reporters.

Can RCB leapfrog the Chennai Super Kings tonight? Let us know in the comments.
