IME is dedicating a complete week of programs to celebrate ‘International Museum Day’, observed on May 18th.

International Museum Day aims to promote cultural exchange and mutual understanding. This year’s ICOM theme, ‘Museums for Education and Research’, highlights museums’ role in holistic education.

In celebration, we are hosting a week of programs inviting visitors to explore different facets of Indian Music from instruments, lost traditions to indigenous music. We will learn about string, percussion and ancient instruments like the Yazh, discover the glorious legacy of tawaifs lost to time, and engage with the rich music culture of the Solega people.
