Tell me more about Amherst!

Hello, I'm a prospective HS student and I'm heavily considering EDing into Amherst this year. I do have some specific questions and I'd love to hear from current students so I can get a better idea.

  1. I know the area is small. Does it feel isolated?

I'm an international student (living in Singapore). I've only ever lived in a big city, so I'm not sure if I'd adapt very well to the environment there. Also doesn't help that I'm not used to seasonal weather...... if you came to Amherst from a big city, was the environment a change that was difficult to get used to?

2. How is social life?

How do people usually spend their free time? I know this would vary for everyone, but it doesn't matter. I'd still love to know.

Ok yes that's it. Thank you!
