Guns N’ Roses Hits Every Note As They Rise On The Charts

Guns N’ Roses can almost always be found on one or two Billboard charts. This frame, the legendary band appears on at least five tallies, which is no easy feat for a group that’s been working as long as they have…or one which has not dropped a new album in well over a decade.

The group has one album and two hit songs currently charting across a number of tallies. All of those titles–both the full-length and their tunes–are on the rise, as consumption of the band’s music continues to improve.

Guns N’ Roses’ Greatest Hits is the most popular project from the band this week. The compilation finds a home on four different charts, and it’s lifting on almost all of them. On the one list where they don’t manage to soar, the outfit holds steady, which is, at this point, a win in its own way.

Greatest Hits is up a little more than 2% in terms of total consumption, according to Luminate. The title moved another 10,718 equivalent units last frame in the U.S. 1,268 of those units were actual purchases of the compilation.

That sum is enough for Guns N’ Roses’ Greatest Hits to jump up the Billboard 200 from No. 122 to No. 116. On the Top Rock & Alternative Albums chart, the same set lifts from No. 28 to No. 25. Over on the slightly-more-specific Top Rock Albums roster, the project improves three spaces to No. 21. It’s a non-mover in seventh place on the Top Hard Rock Albums list this time around.

Now, for Guns N’ Roses’ hits. The group has not one, but a pair of singles that are still charting in America, decades after they first broke into mainstream consciousness and became generation-defining smashes.

Both of Guns N’ Roses’ tracks are performing well enough to land on Billboard’s Hard Rock Streaming Songs chart, which tracks, as its name suggests, the most-streamed tunes in the genre. “Sweet Child O’ Mine” re-enters the top five, as it surges from No. 7 to No. 4. “Welcome to the Jungle” is also growing in popularity, as it pushes from No. 22 to No. 20. Both cuts have spent time at No. 1 on the roster before.
