The Rolling Stones returned to Seattle for the first time in five years last night as they continued their Hackney Diamonds Tour at Lumen Field. The fans got in on the action by voting for the tour debut of “Wild Horses” and the legendary band complied.

Once again, The Rolling Stones are letting audiences pick between four song choices in pre-show voting. “Wild Horses” won out last night over “Far Away Eyes,” “Angie” and “She’s A Rainbow.” Each of the four classics had yet to be performed this tour.

While The Rolling Stones initially recorded “Wild Horses” in 1969, they wouldn’t put out the song until it appeared on 1971’s Sticky Fingers due to legal issues. “Wild Horses” was played fairly regularly by The Stones during the ’10s but was only performed three times in 2021 and four times in 2022 leading up to last night.

The famed rock band kicked off Wednesday’s show with the usual 2024 tour opener “Start Me Up.” Next came “Get Off My Cloud” and “Let’s Spend The Night Together” along with Hackney Diamonds lead single “Angry.” Frontman Mick Jagger then said “we’re going to do the song you voted for” and added “there’s an even more important vote in November, so don’t forget to get involved in that too.”

After pointing out the four choices on a screen behind the band, Jagger revealed “Wild Horses” would be played. The Rolling Stones didn’t miss beat on their first version of the song in nearly two years.

The Rolling Stones then went back to Hackney Diamonds for “Whole Wide World” and performed oldies “Tumbling Dice” and “You’ Can’t Always Get What You Want.” Next came time for guitarist Keith Richards to front the band on “You Got The Silver” and “Little T&A.” From there, Mick Jagger came back and led the group on the same run of classics that have closed each set this tour. Another “Sweet Sounds Of Heaven”/”(I Can’t Get) No Satisfaction” encore sent fans on their way.

Next up for The Rolling Stones are two shows at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey on May 23 and 26. View the complete tour itineary by scrolling below.
