Seeing Clearly Through The Smoke Screen

In 1961 I was in a Marine airwing. Many of our pilots served for several years, in both WWII and Korea, yet they were classified as “reserve” officers; and could be activated or deactivated at will.

Several got screwed and were inactivated mere months before their military pension would have vested. They joined the reserves, flying on weekends to earn “reserve retirement credit points,” hoping for some sort of pension down the road.

The younger pilots were offered “regular” commissions if they would return to active duty as helicopter pilots. We soon learned one of them died in a place called Vietnam. Never heard of it, we searched to find it on a map. I remember thinking, “How can he have been shot down, we’re not at war?”

The History Channel explains:

“May 1961: President John F. Kennedy sends helicopters and 400 Green Berets to South Vietnam and authorizes secret operations against the Viet Cong.”

Soon we were embroiled in an all-out war with 500,000 troops authorized for Vietnam; yet Congress never formally declared war.

The Vietnam War Memorial lists almost 58,000 names of those who died in vain. We lost the war, eventually quitting and walking away. The Vietnam War Era changed our country forever.

When I subscribed to Richard J. Maybury’s U.S & World Early Warning Report, I learned my young concerns were accurate.

Richard has been compared to General Billy Mitchell who foretold the Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor. Richard is one of those rare individuals who sees clearly through the political smoke screens, to spot crucial new trends – the kind that catch most people by surprise.

I’m excited, Richard has agreed to an interview.

DENNIS: Richard, thank you for taking time to help educate our readers.

Can you explain your background? How did you develop this special knack, seeing clearly and understanding what is really going on?

RICHARD: Thank you, Dennis for inviting me. I’ve learned from your work too. It’s a refreshing change from the lamestream press.

As for my background, in 1967 my future wife Samantha and I were typical college students living in Southern California, right out of a Bobby Darin and Sandra Dee movie – until I was drafted. The government grabbed me for the Air Force.

We got married, and wound up in Central America, living in a Panamanian slum. It wasn’t fun, but we adapted. Sam got a job in intelligence. I was a crew member in the 605th Air Commando Squadron – “special operations.”

We were forbidden to talk to each other about our jobs, but you can imagine, our pillow talk was interesting.

DENNIS: Much different from most of us….

RICHARD: We soon realized – what we were seeing individually – didn’t jive with what the government said we were doing (protecting Americans from communism).

Federal power junkies have always assumed the Monroe Doctrine authorized them to meddle in the lives and politics of Latin Americans.

I greatly admire our “founding fathers,” but they were human and made mistakes. One was the Bill of Rights stops at the border. Inside the U.S., there are some controls on the power junkies. Outside they can do anything they please.

The federal government meddles in foreign nations incessantly, and I mean ALL nations, no exceptions!

Sam and I realized the federal swamp was trying to re-engineer the Latin American countries, and was training and equipping the troops of the dictators to do it.

DENNIS: What was your role?

RICHARD: A primary part of my job was to help train them. I helped train the troops of General Rios Montt (later convicted of war crimes and genocide) and also Manuel Noriega.

DENNIS: Richard, this is ironic. One of my dearest friends is a retired U.S. Marshal. On January 3, 1990 his team was waiting in Miami when Noriega surrendered.

So, you were training these same dictators in Panama 22 years earlier; when they no longer do our bidding, we try them for war crimes?

RICHARD: Yes. It was during that time in Latin America, that we began to understand how the federal government really behaves outside our borders. It’s why the swamp is feared and hated, not only among half of all Americans, but also around the world.

Sam and I went through two shooting revolutions together. She has more combat experience than I do. I often remind my readers; political power corrupts the morals and judgment.

DENNIS: It’s understandable how those indelible experiences impacted your lives and newsletter.

RICHARD: In our newsletter, U. S. & World Early Warning Report, I take what we learned about federal swamp’s true behavior, both inside the U. S. and abroad, and use that knowledge to show investors how their assets are affected, and how they can profit from it.

Everything the government does – not what they say they do, but what they really do – alters flows of money. I try to show how to be a winner instead of a loser from these altered flows. We may not like it, but we can certainly protect our families and profit from it.

DENNIS: Let’s talk about political power and corruption. Do you see any solution for Americans?

RICHARD: I’ve only found one that I think has a prayer of working: Convince people we need less government today, even less tomorrow, and so on until we need a microscope to find it. That is what Thomas Jefferson had in mind.

DENNIS: Argentina may be heading down that path; I’m hoping they show us the way.

I quote you often. Let’s tie a couple together.

“I have been studying economics for a half century, and can tell you for a fact that he who trusts government statistics shall be known as a fool. Again, all governments lie, always have and probably always will.”

Partisan politics be damned, I feel both parties are to blame. For years, I’ve saved your quote:

“What is politics? It is a candidate standing before a crowd and thundering, “If you elect me, I will give you EVERYTHING you want, and you WON’T NEED TO PAY FOR IT! I will force the evil rich person standing next to you to pay!” …. And the crowd cheers….”

The government wastes trillions we don’t have, the Fed creates money out of nothing, and lies about the consequences. What will cause this insanity to stop?

RICHARD: I don’t think it will stop. What generally happens in such situations is the power junkies run the country into the ground, until a wave of despair sweeps both the general population and the civil servants.

The political class realize they have wrecked any possibility of fixing what they broke, and they quietly panic. Then one morning, the citizenry wakes up, turns on the TV and learn the White House, Capitol Building and Supreme Court buildings are empty. They report the top levels of government have fled, and now the lower levels are also fleeing.

The military takes over and they decide what the next government will be.

DENNIS: This is very common around the world?

RICHARD: Yes, Samantha and I personally saw it in Panama. We knew a member of the ruling elite. One day the woman disappeared. The next day we learned all the top ruling families had gone to the airport, boarded planes and flown away.

DENNIS: Didn’t that happen in Cuba?

RICHARD: Yes, when Batista fled, Castro moved right in.

DENNIS: I’ve been itching to ask you this question. Former General Michael Flynn recently remarked, “We don’t even know if an election will be held in 2024.”

You recently said:

“There is simply no end in sight to the big Ukraine and Israeli bloodbaths, plus a high likelihood that the power junkies in DC and Beijing will slug it out in order to frighten their populations into staying loyal to them.”

The public expects an October surprise. How do you see things playing out?

RICHARD: While I haven’t heard anything, I wouldn’t rule anything out at this point.

Active-duty military officers are forbidden to get very political, but there are now scores of retired officers calling for a return to the Constitution. One is retired Joint Chiefs of Staff Chairman Mark Milley.

DENNIS: So, you have hope?

RICHARD: Absolutely! I can’t prove it, but I feel many flag officers understand this whole corrupt, power hungry mountain of regulations, taxes and socialist central planning will soon drop into their laps. They understand the way to avoid chaos is to plan ahead to revive the Constitution to its original meanings.

The majority of the Supreme Court is headed in that direction, but I fear events may overtake them. The final emergency revival of the American System of Liberty will be done by the military. That’s my best guess as what is coming. At this point I give it a 70% probability. The other 30%, I don’t even want to think about.

DENNIS: One final question What do you recommend we do?

RICHARD: Dennis, thanks for inviting me.

My recommendations to my readers are similar to yours, own gold, don’t have too much invested in dollars which can be destroyed by inflation, and be prepared.

Dennis here. While the road ahead may be rocky, the new president in Argentina is showing peaceful revolution may be possible.

I agree with Richard, our founding fathers did something special for mankind. However the power structure ends up, I hope they are committed to getting our country back on track. It can be done.

On The Lighter Side

I asked Richard for the interview because many readers have expressed concern for the direction our country is headed. I’m still optimistic that our problems, while they are large and numerous, can be worked out. There will be some major adjustments worldwide, but in time, freedom and democracy will prevail.

The process will be challenging, and a surprise to many, but I’m a strong believer in the American spirit. No matter how hard the elites try, they will be surprised to see what happens when the going gets tough…. As Richard says, the elites are likely to be the ones leaving the building.

• Being old is when you don’t care where your spouse goes, just as long as you don’t have to go too.

• I now know how it will all end for me, one of my kids will unplug my life support to charge their phone.

• At a wedding reception, someone yelled: “All married people please stand next to the one person that has made your life worth living.” The bartender was almost crushed to death.

• I met my wife at a singles night. I was surprised because I thought she was home with the kids.

• I want someone I can share my entire life with who will leave me alone most of the time.

• Yesterday I bought a world map, gave my wife a dart, and said, “Throw this and wherever it lands, I will take you on vacation.” We’re spending 3 weeks behind the fridge.
