Simon Evans to direct Inside No. 9 Stage/Fright at the West End’s Wyndham’s Theatre

The director has been announced for Steve Pemberton and Reece Shearsmith’s forthcoming stage adaptation of hit BBC series Inside No. 9.

Inside No. 9 Stage/Fright will play the West End’s Wyndham’s Theatre in London for 12 weeks only, from 18 January to 5 April 2025. Tickets went on sale last week, and sold out within hours.

The director of the new show has been announced as Simon Evans, the Royal Television Society Award-winning writer and director.

Simon Evans co-created hit BBC/Netflix/Hulu series Staged starring Michael Sheen and David Tennant. His directing work for theatre includes West-End revivals of Killer Joe and A Day in the Death of Joe Egg; and productions for the Donmar Warehouse (St Nicholas, The Resistible Rise of Arturo UI. Silence of the Sea), Found 111 (The Dazzle, Bug, Fool for Love), the Park Theatre (Almost Maine) and Hampstead Theatre (Alligators).

Further creatives for the show are to be announced.

Steve Pemberton and Reece Shearsmith‘s award-winning TV comedy Inside No. 9 Stage/Fright will feature a newly written story, and feature all the comedic, spooky and dramatic moments that fans of the TV show have come to expect.

The ninth and final season of the Inside No. 9 TV show begins on BBC Two and BBC iPlayer on 8 May 2024.

Inside No. 9 Stage/Fright is playing at the Wyndham’s Theatre from 18 January to 5 April 2025.
