On a recent edition of the “Wrestling with Freddie” podcast, Swerve Strickland revealed that a documentary showcasing his journey to becoming the AEW World Champion is in the works. He mentioned that a film crew has been documenting his journey since AEW Worlds End 2023 this past December.
He said, “A documentary series is coming out of a whole series from me becoming the first African-American AEW World Champion filmed by the Lucas Brothers. [They’re] Great guys. They were there in Dynasty in St. Louis, they’ve been there at Worlds End, they’ve been there at Revolution, they’ve been non-stop since Full Gear. We’re still going, we’ve still got a lot of story to tell.”
On a recent edition of the “Insight” podcast, Max Caster discussed his approach of referencing and taking shots at WWE in his raps, and why he believes it could be a double-edged sword.
One notable instance was when Caster referenced Buddy Matthews’ real-life relationship with WWE Superstar Rhea Ripley, which generated significant attention.
Caster said, “That’s a double-edged sword, cause you can get them on some things and it’ll be a good burn but you’re also putting more light on their product which they don’t need it… At a certain point you know, people would say, ‘Hey, stop doing that,’ and I listened. I really try not to do it anymore because it just creates more eyes on their product and not ours; it makes us seem second rate. Referenced Vince McMahon on I think the very first time that any sort of allegations came out. When he retired I referenced him and that was like news it was ‘news news’ so I thought you know, that’s a little bit better than me saying their TV show, they did this, on their internet show they did this, it’s way different.”
