Men's Crew Wins Four Medals, Finishes Second in Men's Points at Jefferson Dad Vail Regatta

PENNSAUKEN, N.J. – The No. 23 Temple men's crew team had another successful run at the 85th Jefferson Dad Vail Regatta, coming home with one gold, two silvers and a bronze medal.
 
The Owls finished second in the men's points standings with 83 and tied for third in the overall points total.
 
Claiming a gold medal for Temple and the Bayer Trophy was the 2V8+ in Kevin Murphy. The collective of Grace Crosby (coxswain), Konstantin Kluge (stroke), Lars Veckenstedt, Lukas Wojciechowski, Sebastian Rawson, Adam Curran, Fran Bruzek, Ryan Spellman and Ryan Yates came out of the stakeboats fast and built a lead, allowing the boat to hold off the competition at the end. TU clocked in at 5:59.829, besting Drexel by more than two-and-a-half seconds.
 
The V8+ of Ryan Brady (coxswain), Dimitrios Stasinos (stroke), Brandon Van Vuuren, Adam Oliver, Kevin Harvell, Rares Nechita, Kenneth Raynor, Brayden MacBride and Pascal Evans (bow) rowed The "Professor" Gratson to the final stroke, winning bronze in a time of 5:55.751
 
In the 3V8+, Frederick Mehra (coxswain), Patrick Lamb (stroke), Marco Palomo, Dean Hargrove, Gavin Anderson, Jack Hanson, Jack Woodruff, Theodore Glenn and Stephen Gloyd (bow) took Dr. Gavin White across the line in a silver medal time of 6:22.035, more than three seconds ahead of third place Saint Joseph's.
 
The freshman/novice 4+ of Robert Hsu (coxswain), Nate Bingham (stroke), Joe Sayer, Henry Skupien and Jacob Trump (bow) rowed Silky '87 to a silver medal time of 6:58.889.
