EDEN CONFIDENTIAL: Prince Harry's favourite club [SoHoe House] cracks down on drug use in the toilets by its members.

News/Media/Tabloids

Is this a little shade from our Richard Eden? I usually find it annoying how royal reporters throw references to Harold and his wife into every article, but on this occaision, I'm laughing so hard. And maybe this problem at SoHoe House explains a few things....

Soho House, where the Duke and Duchess of Sussex enjoyed their first date, sent members an email this week, warning them of its 'strict no-drugs policy'.

So severe is the crackdown that the club has threatened to expel members found to have shared a lavatory cubicle, on the grounds that they might have been taking drugs together.

Richard eden is a treasure. He is all of us.

I love Richard Eden. The master of polite shade.

The press do love to get Prince Harry and drugs into the same article. In fact they can write any article and add the words Prince Harry somewhere it will get more clicks, sadly. Public dislike is generating more interest in these two unfortunately.

Which is his own fault for writing it in the book.

The smart money moved on from Soho House many years ago. At this point it is just trading on its 90’s and noughties reputation.

Wouldn’t be shocked to find that’s the hotel in London he stayed for his 3 day visit last week

Probably why madame seems stuck in the 90s herself 🙄

This means they are all well aware that these people took part in these activities. This is what I've gathered from reading articles, etc., from the polite British press. To get the full story, you must read, carefully peruse the included photos, and then use your noodle 🧠 to put the parts together that they are not able to call out, due to editor kibosh, etc.

I’m sorry to hijak this post with unrelated content but this gave me a chuckle. You know someone had hoped for some major global event to take place over the Nigerian ‘tour’ well not quite global but certainly in the U.K. today my social media is all this ha ha no H no M. It made me smile any way!

eurovision & the lights here too! h&m are actually terrible at managing publicity and these visits. they’re truly amateurs.

Oh yeah that too actually!

I was hoping the CME would knock out the satellite links, but I guess God moves in mysterious ways and instead just produced the best Aurora this far south in years.

Richard Eden is a master of snark. Last week´s Palace Confidential discussed Harry´s Travalyst speech. Richard said "but Harry is not using drugs anymore, is he?" with a big grin.

I wonder if the creeps at Sohoe House have anything to say about Haz possibly lying on his visa application?

Soho House is experiencing problems in a lot of places. Mostly because these two and Marcus have shone a bright hot light on the goings on.

Yes, my first thought was this is happening because of H&M.

Forgot whereabouts on the Internet this comment came from. But remembered someone saying that if a person were to say they met their future spouse at SoHo House, it is like saying they met their future spouse at the Playboy Mansion.

Let’s be real for a minute - every Royal since the 60’s has probably at least tried drugs. One of QEII’s uncles was a full blown heroin addict. I think Uncle David also partook in the 1930’s coke craze. Do I care if the King smoked some J’s? No. Do I care if Princess Anne ever dropped LSD (while I’m sure she did NOT, she’s in my dream list of people to microdose with). Did William try all the wares available in the 90’s party drug scene? Probably. Do I care? No. Princess Margaret was a full on lush!

Why don’t we care? Because most of these activities are rite of passage affairs that most human beings born from 1945 forward have tried. Why Ginger’s is problematic is because he does these things on the world stage and looks stupid doing it.

If he wants to sit in LA/Frisco/Montecito getting high - go for it. Marijuana is legal just like alcohol. But also just like alcohol, you don’t get blasted and then go attempt to make financial deals or tell the world what to do. But these two are on that big grandiose coke high mixed with alcohol, talking smack.

And usually people do not adopt a holier-than-thou attitude concerning their drug use.

Exactly.

Alcohol =liquid courage. They think it makes them smarter. I've had an alcoholic or 2 in my family, so we r well versed 🙄. Add a line or 2, not only will they have liquid courage, they'll be awake for 3 days straight babbling how they r gonna save the fucking world !

Coke & booze are a nightmare combo. We had one in the family. Loud, obnoxious and telling everyone things he knew nothing about. I recognize it.

I agree - I ain't clutching my pearls because someone used recreational substances at some time. Some of those things are legal (there are multibillion dollar industries making and selling the legal stuff), and some aren't.

As you said, two of the late QEII's three uncles were serious partiers back in the 20's and 30's. The very handsome youngest, George, the Duke of Kent, was bisexual and avidly engaged in the pursuit of pleasures of all kinds. It's apparently accepted that he got into trouble with heroin. This article takes the scandalmongering approach to his story. It says that his oldest brother, the then Prince of Wales, had George "locked up in a country house" to get him out of his addictive use. I've read a more compassionate reference to that, which says the PoW spent time there with George and helped him get through it. IIRC it was in the book "Princes at War" which covers the activities of QEII's father and his three brothers during WWII. (George died in a plane crash during the war.) The late Edward VII was IMO pretty much a waste of space, and I remember that story about him helping get George cleaned up as the only unselfish thing I ever heard that he did.

You nailed it with this: "Ginger’s [drug use] is problematic is because he does these things on the world stage and looks stupid doing it."

Does membership expulsion include the Todgers? Or are they allowed to still use it as a den of iniquity.

Simply ban Aitch and Rache.

Problem solved

But sex is okay.

That's it Harry's goose is well and truly cooked.

The sordid world that hatched the Sussex couple. Perhaps our fresh-faced young lovers Harry and Meghan bonded over a toilet as they shared some coke. A great story to tell their invisikid dolls some day.
