'Ghostlight' Trailer: A Construction Worker Reconnects With His Daughter In Acclaimed Sundance Drama

There are plenty of films and TV shows telling stories about the power of art to save people’s lives. But you don’t often see one of these stories shine the light on a middle-aged construction worker. That’s exactly what happens in the new film, “Ghostlight.”

In the trailer for “Ghostlight,” we get to see how the film focuses on Dan, a construction worker who is having issues with his teen daughter. While he tries to navigate the waters of being a father to a disgruntled teen, Dan finds himself drawn to a local theater troupe, as they prepare for a production of “Romeo and Juliet.” From there, we see Dan grow as he takes on a role in the film, which helps him reconnect with his daughter.

The drama stars Keith Kupferer, Tara Mallen, Katherine Mallen Kupferer, and Dolly De Leon. “Ghostlight” is directed by Alex Thompson and Kelly O’Sullivan, with the latter penning the script.

We saw the film when it debuted at this year’s Sundance Film Festival. In our review, we said, “In ‘Ghostlight,’ [Thompson and O’Sullivan] have crafted a little indie gem that comes together almost perfectly.”

“Ghostlight” arrives in select theaters on June 14. You can watch the trailer below.

Here’s the synopsis:

When melancholic construction worker Dan finds himself drifting from his wife and daughter, he discovers community and purpose in a local theater’s production of Romeo and Juliet. As the drama onstage starts to mirror his own life, he and his family are forced to confront a personal loss.
