Portsmouth University provides free meals to students to help with stressful exam period

Portsmouth University students are receiving free meals to help combat stress during the busy exam period.

The University is collaborating with Havant and South Downs College and gives college hospitality apprentices the chance to put their cooking skills to use in the University’s kitchen facilities.

The meals will be given to students to take home and enjoy between 5 and 6 pm every Monday and Tuesday until 25 June and is the result of the Have Dinner on Us initiative.

Have Dinner on Us was developed by the University’s Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences as well as the Centre for Continuing Professional Development and is supported with sponsorship from The Coastal Kitchen Family.

Professor Stephen Corbett, Executive Dean of the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences, said: “We all know how hard exams can be, and this, coupled with the additional burden of the cost of living, we were keen to continue to provide extra support to our students at this busy, stressful and important time of year.”
