Can't download apps on microsoft store

So I've been trying to download apps on the Microsoft store but every time I try to download anything, I get the same error message. I have tried searching for what to do but never got a concrete answer to solve it. Any recommendations on how to solve this problem?

Hello and welcome to Microsoft Community!

I understand your trouble, you keep getting the same error message while downloading apps from Microsoft Store, for such cases, there are mainly following possibilities:

1. Internet connection failure

2. Corrupted cache

3. Insufficient storage space

4. outdated operating system

Based on these situations, I will provide you with some troubleshooting options for reference.

Method 1: Restart Microsoft Store

If you are unable to download from the Microsoft Store, try manually closing the Microsoft Store application and restarting it by following the instructions below.

1. Press Ctrl + Shift + Esc at the same time to open the Task Manager option.

2. Under the Processes tab, click Microsoft Store and then click the End Task button.

3. Reopen the Microsoft Store.

Method 2: Disable Metered Connections

Metered connections are used to prevent applications and programs from consuming unnecessary data by setting data limits. If your network is configured as a metered connection, it may cause problems with the Microsoft Store not being able to install applications. You can follow the instructions below to disable metered connections.

1. Right-click the Wi-Fi or Ethernet icon in the lower-right corner of the screen, and then select Open Network and Internet Settings.

2. Click the Properties option in the right panel.

3. Scroll down the screen and toggle the Turn off Settings for Metered Connections option under Metered Connections.

Return to the Microsoft Store and try to install any apps or games.

Method 3: Run Windows App Store Application Troubleshooting

If you still notice that Microsoft Store is not installing the game, then you can use the built-in troubleshooting tool to identify and fix the problem. Follow the steps below.

1. Type Troubleshooting Settings in the Windows search bar. Click Open.

2. Click Attach Troubleshooting.

3. Select Windows Store Applications > Run Troubleshooter.

4. After the troubleshooting process, if the tool finds any problems, click Apply This Fix.

5. Reboot your PC following the instructions given in the continuous prompts.

Method 4: Clear Windows Store Cache

If you are still unable to download from Microsoft Store, it may be because a corrupt cache file is interfering with the process. To delete Microsoft Store cache, follow the steps below.

1. Click the Windows +R keys at the same time to open the Run dialog box.

2. Type wsreset.exe and press Enter.

Method 5: Reset Microsoft Store

Resetting the Microsoft Store is an extreme option that will remove your login details, settings and preferences from your computer, but it can work if you are unable to download from the Microsoft Store. In these order.

1. Press the Windows key, type Microsoft Store and select the Application Settings option.

2. Scroll down the Settings screen and click the highlighted Reset button.

Note: When resetting the Microsoft Store, your app data will be deleted.

3. Click Reset at the confirmation prompt.

4. When the process is complete, restart the PC.

These are some of the suggestions I can offer you, and I hope they can help.

Best Regards!
