We are looking for an experienced Analyst to support our Product team and further drive a data-first culture. Reporting into our rapidly growing  Analytics team, you will deeply understand the product experience and how it relates to our company objectives. You’ll synthesize and communicate insights and empower the entire team to work effectively with data so that we can achieve our mission of helping everyone sleep better. This is a high-impact role that must be based in the United States or Canada. Hatch is based out of California, so this role would be asked to be available during PST/PDT hours.

Designed by experts and loved by parents, our Rest family includes Rest, Rest+, Rest Mini, and Rest (2nd Gen)—all-in-one sleep products designed for babies and kids that can be controlled remotely. Hatch Restore is a fully-customizable product geared toward helping adults sleep well. As an all-in-one sleep assistant, Restore helps people personalize their perfect night of slumber. Job Responsibilities

Within 3 months:

  • Build a solid understanding of our product experience, database, company strategies and success metric
  • Monitor and maintain existing dashboards and perform ad hoc analysis to answer business questions related to our product experience and performance for both the adult and kids product lines.
  • Become a trusted partner to cross-functional stakeholders spanning product, design, engineering, and content to deliver clear and actionable learnings.

Within 6 months:

  • Revamp dashboards and reports to ensure cross-functional stakeholders are informed about how Hatch products are performing, and empower the team to make data-informed decisions
  • Building on existing knowledge of our data and tools, identify opportunities for data improvements, automation and self-serve solutions to help the team learn and iterate faster
  • Use your impeccable problem solving skills and ability to peel back layers of a problem that are not immediately apparent to others to help inform product strategy.

After 1 year:

  • Propose and support projects designed to deepen our understanding of our customer base and our product experience.
  • Exemplify and promote best practices for experimentation, data collection, and measurement strategies.
  • Provide thought partnership across the product and engineering organizations, helping to infuse a data-first approach throughout the development process

Job Requirements

  • 3+ years of quantitative industry experience (analytics, data science, data engineering)
  • Bachelor’s degree in a quantitative field (economics, mathematics, statistics, CS) preferred
  • Advanced SQL skills, hands-on experience working with consumer product data in large data warehouse environments,  and familiarity with modern analytical tools and languages (Python, R, etc.)
  • Fluency with  data visualization platforms & technologies (Sisense, Mode, Tableau) and eye for compelling data viz to convey insights.
  • Working knowledge of statistical methodologies, experiment design, and common pitfalls of data analysis.
  • A passion for collaboration and strong cross-functional communication skills to partner effectively with both technical and non-technical teams.
  • Self-starting attitude: You drive projects from start to finish with minimal guidance and a focus on improving the customer experience.
  • Customer empathy: You believe in using data to better understand customer behavior so that we can deliver value to Hatch users.
