A bunch of podcasts and people I know seemed to all start talking about Midnight Run at the same time. I was worried it wouldn’t live up to the hype, but man, what a funny, warm, exciting action movie. Love that they played it straight. Thoughts?

De Niro is FANTASTIC in it.
I absolutely LOVE that movie. Yaphet Kotto as Alonso Mosley is so great in that. I mean the whole cast is.
Underrated gem? It's a universally acclaimed movie.
De Niro and Grodin are really good together. I personally gave the movie 4 1/2 stars. Midnight Run is a movie that doesn't get talked about as much as it should as I thought it was better than the first Lethal Weapon and other similar cop comedies from the time. I discovered the movie through Siskel and Ebert as they called it the best buddy cop movie of them all. Not my all time favorite buddy comedy as that belongs to both Rush Hour 1 and 2 for me personally.
I first saw it a couple of years ago and really loved it. I should give my Shout Factory blu-ray a watch soon.
