Lincoln University (PA) (May 9, 2024) – On the heels of one of Lincoln University Athletics Department’s most historic and record breaking years and the one year anniversary of the return of Director of Athletics & Recreational Services, Harry Stinson III, The Lincoln University Athletics Department is proud to announce the re-launch of its official athletics booster club, The 1st Club.
The 1st Club was originally established in 2021. The re-launch of the booster club features a new platform for giving, formalization of the organization including a President, Jason Hunt, ‘00, Vice President, Takeyah Young ‘99, Executive Director Harry Stinson III (Director of Athletics & Recreational Services) and Director, Joshua Dean (Associate Athletic Director).
"I am excited to re-launch The 1st Club," said Lincoln University Director of Athletics and Recreational Services Harry Stinson III. "This booster club will assist our athletic program to fulfill the mission of athletics and to position our athletic programs for success in the future. As we continue to position Lincoln Athletics as one of the premier institutions in Division II, having a development arm to invest into our students, coaches, facilities and our pursuit of greatness is key and is a foundation pillar for sustained success. I'm looking forward to engaging our alumni, former student athletes and community partners in an expansive way to create this avenue for success for Lincoln Athletics."
The 1st Club serves as the official fundraising arm for Lincoln University Athletics, relying on the generous contributions of its members to support student-athletes, facilities, and all 13 varsity programs. With a tax deductible gift, the donor will provide resources for the athletic department to excel both academically and athletically on the competition playing surface.
"The 1st Club is the official booster club and fundraising entity for the Lincoln University Athletics Department," explains Jason Hunt LU ‘00, President of The 1st Club. "As president, I believe that the Lincoln University Athletics program will only go as far as Lincoln University's alumni advance it. In order to attract and retain world-class student athletes, we must build and maintain world-class facilities as well as bring in and retain world-class coaches and staff. Winning programs require financial resources that are equally made available for both the Men's & Women's programs alike."
The 1st Club seeks dedicated members who share a passion for Lincoln University Athletics. 1st Club memberships directly support:
- Scholarships: Providing nearly 300 student-athletes the financial resources needed to excel both academically and athletically.
- Athletic Department Infrastructure: Offering financial support for specific athletic needs.
- Facilities: Contributing to capital fundraising projects for the creation and maintenance of first-class facilities.
