Last-over hero: Rinku Singh lauds Yash Dayal with Insta post after RCB vs CSK thriller

KKR batter Rinku Singh lauded Yash Dayal's last over heroics during RCB's match against CSK at M Chinnaswamy, Bengaluru on May 18, Saturday. Dayal bowled a magnificent last over to defend 17 runs in the last over to help RCB qualify for the playoffs in the Indian Premier League 2024. CSK needed 35 to win from the last over of the match, but in case they scored anything above 18, they would have qualified for the playoffs. However, a brilliant final over from Dayal helped RCB win the match by 27 runs to become the 4th team to qualify for the playoffs. They became the first team in the history of the tournament to qualify for the playoffs after having a solitary win in their first 7 games.

Rinku took to his Instagram to share Dayal's winning-moment picture and captioned the post as, "God's plan baby". He was maligned by the experts and fans when he conceded 5 sixes against Rinku Singh during GT's match against KKR in IPL 2023. When KKR needed 28 runs in the last over, Rinku slammed Dayal for 5 sixes on the trot and guided his team to an improbable win to become an overnight star.

DAYAL'S FULL-CIRCLE MOMENT

Dayal, on the other hand, became that villain, who was criticised right, left and centre. But, RCB showed faith in him and bought him for Rs 5 crore in the IPL 2024 auction. Dayal scripted his redemption story in a must-win clash for RCB against CSK.

He gave away only 7 runs in the last over to help RCB do the unthinkable.
