The K-pop sensation aespa (에스파) has been hitting new career highs with their latest release, 'Supernova,' from their first full-length album 'Armageddon.'

Released on May 13, the double title track 'Supernova' has been breaking records on Spotify, the world’s largest audio and music streaming platform. The song garnered approximately 1.94 million streams on the first day and 2.79 million on the second day, setting a new record for the group in terms of first-day and daily streams. As of 6 PM on the 17th, 'Supernova' had amassed over 10.73 million cumulative streams, showcasing its tremendous success.

'Supernova' has also dominated various music charts, achieving four consecutive days at number one on Bugs, topping the Melon HOT100, peaking at number two on the Melon TOP100, and reaching number six on the daily charts. Internationally, the track claimed the top spot on China's Tencent Music K-POP Chart, QQ Music’s rising chart, digital album sales chart, overall music video chart, and Korean music video chart, as well as Kugou Music's digital album sales chart. In Japan, it topped the AWA real-time rising chart.

The music video for 'Supernova,' released alongside the single, extends aespa's unique multiverse storyline into season two. It features contemporary technology-inspired visuals, encapsulating the group’s distinctive identity. The video quickly garnered attention, securing the number one spot on YouTube's global daily popular music video chart for three consecutive days.

'Supernova' is a dance track characterized by its minimalistic sound with a heavy kick and bass foundation. The lyrics liken the opening of a door to another dimension to a supernova, describing an inner explosion in a hip and dynamic style, perfectly capturing aespa's signature 'savory' music style.

Fans can look forward to seeing aespa perform 'Supernova' live on MBC's 'Show! Music Core' on the 18th and SBS's 'Inkigayo' on the 19th.
