Tim Haskell, affectionately known as "Bud," passed away unexpectedly, leaving the Westbrook community in mourning. A dedicated family man, Tim cherished his wife and children, always placing them first—except for occasional hunting and fishing trips. He was also a beloved grandfather, immensely proud of his grandchildren and deeply involved in their lives, especially by taking them to football and other sports events.
Wendy Benson Sargent, a close family friend, shared her heartbreak on social media: "This past few months has been quite difficult and this one is heartbreaking. He loved his wife and his family and they were always the first in his life. He loved his grandchildren so very much and was so proud. This is a tough one on the kids, Tim took them to football and all their sports. Heartbroken for his family and six pack of best friends. My heart goes out to the Haskell family. Sending hugs, prayers, and much love. Tim Haskell you will be missed. Love you bud!"
The absence of life insurance and savings has put a financial strain on Tim’s family, compelling his best friend, Andrew Peterson, to initiate a fundraising campaign to cover funeral and memorial service costs. The fundraiser, titled "Assist in Honoring Tim Haskell’s Memory," has raised $2,110 of its $10,000 goal, with 17 donations so far.
Andrew Peterson expressed his sorrow, saying, "Yesterday we lost a good person – Tim Haskell, Aka Bud. I’m raising funds for the funeral service for my best friend. Bud didn’t have life insurance nor any savings to fall back on to pay for these unexpected expenses to the Haskell household. I’ll be working with Susan, Emily, and Jake to arrange the memorial service. These funds will be used for the cremation and memorial service. Anything will help. Bud was an amazing soul that will be missed by many. I can’t believe he’s gone. Fly High Bud."
The community has come together in this difficult time, with messages of condolence and support pouring in for the Haskell family, highlighting how deeply Tim ‘Bud’ Haskell touched the lives around him.
