When a Ferrari flies into a river, does it float? One driver checked

Ferrari cars are superb sports vehicles, no doubt, but submerging in the icy waters of a Swiss river is something that even exceeds them. This is what the owner of a 488 Pista learned.

The troubles of the wealthy are usually an expression that typically comes to teach about problems that are not really important or critical, but in this case, it's hard not to participate in the distress of the owner of this Ferrari 488 Pista. The Swiss driver found himself flying from the bridge straight into the turbulent waters of a river near Brno.

According to an Instagram user who documents on his account among other things a variety of cars involved in accidents, this driver waited no less than 40 minutes for rescue, while standing on the threshold of the car partially submerged in the icy waters. We don't know why he found himself in this situation, but for sure, during those 40 minutes, he had plenty of time to think about it.

The 488 Pista was produced for only two years between 2018 and 2020 (but also hit the roads in 2021) by Ferrari. It is the extreme track version of the 488's coupe configuration that replaced the 458 and kept using the V8 engine. It had a 3.9-liter twin-turbo engine with a power output of 720 horsepower. Not that this car specifically can do anything with them, but when on the road, they accelerate it to 100 km/h in 2.8 seconds and up to a maximum of 340 km/h.

In Israel, you could still buy the 488 for a bargain price of NIS 1.95 million while the Fista was already an event of NIS 2.5 million, before they started to define and equip it with various improvements and digitizations offered by the manufacturer. In 2019, one such was seen on the roads in the country, two more in 2020, and another one in 2021.
