Best classes in Diablo 4 Season 4, ranked

Take the battle to the pit with the best class

Diablo 4 has had a pretty rocky history when it comes to releasing new seasons. So much so, that players would rather play the Season 4 PTR again than go back to playing Season 3. Now, with the new season and all of its loot changes finally here, let’s take a look at the best classes in Diablo 4 Season 4.

What is the best class in Diablo 4 Season 4?

There have been quite a lot of changes to the power ladder for Diablo 4 since Season 3. Those who played the PTR of Season 4 can attest to this, as the Necromancer is leaps and bounds the best class to play.

Not only is the Necromancer’s leveling and mid-game experience enjoyable but when you are attempting Pit of Artificer runs in endgame, a Necro-minion build will clear almost anything. Necro-minion endgame builds utilize the Golem Mastery gear ranks, while other builds can benefit from Shadowblight and the Wither Legendary Node.

Other classes such as Sorcerer received even more nerfs to the top build from last season however, that doesn’t mean it’s unviable, especially for leveling. Rogue and Druid remained fairly similar with their rankings, but it’s Barbarians that took the biggest brunt of the nerfs for this season. That being said, it’s still the Barbarian class, so you can still find some very useful builds out there.

Sorcerer is all the way at the bottom of the list, and that’s not entirely its fault. Leveling on a Sorcerer is some of the easiest gameplay you’ll experience in all of Diablo 4. That being said, you sacrifice good single-target damage when you go Sorcerer.

And with the lightning ball build being nerfed, the only viable endgame build for Sorcerers lies in the frozen orb build, which can help decimate most endgame content. However, if you’re looking for the best build diversity in all of Diablo 4, Sorcerer should be your go-to class.

Druids, while still not being that top tier, have gotten a decent buff in its endgame build. You’ll take the longest amount of time leveling with the Druid, but you’ll be able to build a pretty solid Wolf-nado build once you make it to max level.

Rogues, on the other hand, are the antithesis of the Druid. You’ll be able to speed up your leveling process significantly, however your options for endgame builds are severely limited. Short of a rapid fire build for endgame bosses that require extremely specific specializations, you’re resigned to things such as barrage build. You’ll be hard-pressed to find a one-size-fits-all build for Rogues this season.

Barbarians as we stated, are still fairly prominent in endgame content thanks to Bash Barb and another Thorn build you can create. Sadly, it’s placed at number 2 on the list, since its Dust Devils build was significantly nerfed in the PTR. And when you compare it to the Necro’s top build, Barbarians get outshined in almost every facet.

Use these builds to get an advantage on the rest of the pack, and start farming for those sweet Masterworking materials. With these new resources and the new way to earn loot, season 4 of Diablo is shaping up to be its best season yet.
