Beggin' on your knees is a certified pop omfg

I’m always talking about this. Love these random guitars with people who we didn’t see play a guitar once

Yeah defo, some of ones that I can remember that stuck a chord with me were, 'Song To You', 'Ok' 'Take a Hint', 'Freak The Freak Out', 'Tell That You Love Me', their cover of 'I Want You Back', 'Give It Up', 'Beggin On Your Knees' and of course the main theme.

I know right?! I even think it could've been on Z100/KIISFM if they wanted to. It's that good.

I also think the kids TV landscape in general had good music back in 2010, if you combine BTR and Disney Channel movies too. It also could be the main reason for the nostalgia factor.

Yes!

All songs of this show are super catchy and amazing.

It’s just so autotuned it’s like I’m watching Alvin and the chipmunks

yep. this is why i love give it up because it had far better vocals than any of the other songs

Honestly, I wouldn't say insanely good. Theres some good tune and some great tunes, but I thought many of them were just alright.
But can we turn the Christmas song into a Xmas time classic? Andre's song absolutely bops (even if it is a bit generic)

I actually see them frequently talked about and appreciated

They always talk about it on Twitter. I think I remember Leon Thomas might’ve wrote some of the songs too.

It’s sooo good

As someone that loves the series.

It’s because that’s all it had going for it aside from “wow attractive actors!”

The storylines from shows like Drake and Josh, Icarly were better, hence why they are more popular as well

Compare this show to Hannah Montana and it’s obvious which one has better stories and is honestly just better made

Again, I love the series. Would always watch it when it was on the television and I still come back listening to the songs

I think Dan fleshed out the world building in Victorious more compared to the prior two show’s. Hollywood Arts was arguably on the scale of Zoey 101 with the whole school atmosphere. I thought storylines in Victorious were more grounded and comedic than Hannah Montana, it really felt like you were watching a satirical parody of a Disney channel original, like it was teasing the whole “Young girl who has A list level looks and talent but nobody knows” trope. Also I think out of all the kid sitcoms around that time Victorious perfected the teen chemistry with the cast.

For me personally the reason I would list the other shows above this one in terms of story is because in a lot of the episodes it felt like there was always a greater lesson to be learned

In Victorious I know that exists but it felt very far and few from the most part

I didn’t really like the relationship dynamics in Victorious.

It didn’t really seem like they were friends at all and more so friends out of circumstance of being in the same setting for many episodes, besides Tori and Andre

Like Jade and Tori made no sense how at some times they were buddy buddy like the episode with Freak the Freak out and wanted revenge on those 2 other girls. She literally tries to steal her boyfriend in front of Jades face so many times

Psychowitz felt overused, the other shows I listed used different locations far more often than the regular set compared to Victorious. Which makes it feel less immersive because they need to adjust for convenience

Was Robbie really friends with anyone? I don’t think so?

Cat had no personality other than being too much of an airhead

Beck was a bit of friends with Andre but I never saw any more depth to him other than “always trying to be the cool guy”

Yeah that’s what sort of reeled me into the show more, was the fact it made fun of that “after school special” tone Disneys show had with always having some underlying message. I always say Danwrap shows had an SNL/Seinfeld Vibe to them where you just watched these characters constantly get eaten and chewed up in their world, characters that are supposed to be aspirational but to the public are just regular people.

Tori never tried stealing Beck from Tori, she’s even helped Jade get back with him numerous times and on top of that rejected Beck at a point in her life when Jade took everything from her. And I’d argue their friendship was actually more organic and realistic compared to every other cast member in the series.

In a school full of talented young artist, there’s going to be tension and rivalry, because when it comes down to it they’re all essentially competing for the same thing. It makes sense Jade having an initial resentment for a new student who’s not only arguably as talented as her but comes in the school and takes some opportunities away from her.

With the locations the show definitely had the other shows beat. They really took advantage of the hollywood atmosphere having episodes revolve around TV and Movie sets, theatre stages, Celebrity houses, beaches, It really felt like you were in the film side of LA with the cast. With icarly we really only know it took place in seattle because it’s always mentioned. They have traveled more than the Victorious cast but mostly during specials.

Yeah Robbie was friends with the main cast and even had a little romantic tension with Cat.

I agree with the point on Beck. His character could’ve been way more than what we got.

I don’t agree they had more locations. Maybe my memory isn’t perfect but it was always a section of their school most of the time or Tori’s house which we only ever saw the downstairs of

In the other shows they actually went to other places and had set more regular locations

And I believe it was in the first couple of episodes where Tori kissed Beck when she knew he was already with Jade to get back at her. It was some acting scene but the kiss was of her own improvisational choice

Robbie was not friends with them. He was never treated with respect and once again it goes back to my point that “he just happened to be in the same setting/circumstance” so they interacted with him. His romance with Cat felt awkward to me, which I suppose was what the were going for but also unrealistic to me. Both of those characters are just so exaggerated from actual humans even as far as kids shows go
