STATE COLLEGE, Pa. (WTAJ) — A State College Area High School club is hosting a 4K run/walk to highlight the importance of student-athlete mental health.

Morgan’s Message is hosting its first annual 4K run/walk called Miles 4 Morgan at Circleville Park on May 19, starting at 11 a.m.

Morgan’s Message is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit that strives to eliminate the stigma surrounding mental health within student-athletes. The nonprofit was founded to carry on the legacy of Morgan Rodgers, a Duke woman’s lacrosse player who died by suicide in 2019.

Registration for the run/walk is free and there will be t-shirts and merch available. The first 25 people who sign up can receive a free t-shirt. The winner of the race will win a $15 gift card.

Get daily updates on local news, weather and sports by signing up for the WTAJ Newsletter.
