The Uma Thurman method
“Wiggle your big toe.”
That scene in Kill Bill when Beatrix is still paralyzed. She wills her big toe to move by saying it to herself over and over again. “Wiggle your big toe.”
That’s how I’ve learned to break out of it. When you’re stuck just focus everything on the smallest body movement. Mines usually my pinky finger. Say it to yourself in your head over and over again. Once you’re able to move your pinky finger or “wiggle your big toe” your whole body will start to wake up the same way it fell asleep.
Get another toe moving (or another finger) then your whole foot (or hand if you want to hit that motherfucker) now your legs are moving, then your torso and your arms and your neck and your head. Stay FOCUSED. Eyes open.

You can learn to get control of it - at least enough to break out of it. Not every time, but almost every time. It gets easier and easier the more you practice it.
