who were your favorite math(calc 2+) & physics teachers at saddleback or ivc?

After taking a class with Kia Shafe a few years ago, I kind of wrote off going to Saddleback because the experience was so horrible. Now, I think I have to go back and take some calc and physics classes for transfer, and I'm wondering if anyone has any positive recommendations.

Doesn't have to be an "easy" class, just prefer teachers who aren't actively aggressive and antagonistic to students lol

Math major here. Ed Haley was the best professor I’ve ever had. Also Professor Valdez at IVC sometimes taught at Saddleback and was also fantastic, if not better than Haley. She has her own YouTube channel. For physics, Mitch Haeri was a super good guy. His teaching quality was pretty good. Larry Perez was not good for physics. Westphal for calculus was super sweet and taught well, but gave difficult exams and expected a lot from her students. Tracy was pretty good for calculus. Everyone I’ve mentioned was really nice except for maybe Perez.

Do you know Perez is good for calculus? I took Westphal but basically taught myself all of calc 1 through youtube so I'm just looking for easy exams and hw

For physics, Perez had fair exams but I just didn’t like his teaching, nor did my classmates. I didn’t take him for calc but I don’t see why he would be much better at calc than physics. For calc 1 I took a W in Westphal and got an A in Tracy’s calc 1 class.

Thank you! I'm about to finish Westphal's Calc class with a A as long as I get a 84+ on my final exam, but it has been such a tough class in terms of exams. I would take Tracy's through your recommendation but its an 8 am class unfortately during the fall, but I feel much more confidentier taking Perez instead in the fall. I appreicate you

Sorensen for calc fs. She was so thorough and is very understanding if needed. She also got me a tutoring job at saddleback

Saddleback sucks take as many classes as you can at IVC and use rate my professors. I 've taken an equal amount of classes at both schools and liked all my teachers at IVC but only 1 at Saddleback.
