Wasnt there a postcard believed from them, or one of them? If so they they made it.

I think it’s plausible they may have lived. Unlikely but that one documentary had some pretty strong evidence that the one may have lived out the rest of his life in Mexico.

Either succumbed to hypothermia or drowned. I highly doubt they actually made it and escaped while staying anonymous. But crazier things have happened so far

but why do u say that? franks iq was 133 which u gotta think they would’ve have made it back if his iq was that high. if you have the plan to escape i’m sure they had a plan to get back if the raft failed

Considering the temperature of the water, what the raft was made of, the distance and the visibility. It’s highly unlikely. Experts and police agree that the men most likely died while escaping and their bodies got lost. Obviously we will never know but I choose to believe the most plausible theory, despite Frank’s genius IQ.

that’s a pretty good theory ngl but honestly in my opinion i think they got away and the justice system doesn’t wanna just admit to it. but it is 50/50

The most convincing evidence for me: Allen west (4th escapee who didn’t escape) told the fbi the plan after making it to angel island was to steal clothes and a car once on land. But they never uncovered any thefts like this despite the high-profile nature of the case.

For the 17 years the FBI worked on the case, no credible evidence emerged to suggest the men were still alive, either in the U.S. or overseas.

The currents of the water and the temperature of the water were too strong/cold. A life jacket was found along with broken parts of the raft

The FBI and authorities say the chances of them were negligible (so small or unimportant as to be not worth considering) so I have a hard time believe the chances were 50/50. It wasn’t like they needed to make one small jump and may or may not have made it. The journey was almost impossible. BUT, they could have. And it’s definitely interesting to think about so I don’t blame you for thinking so 👍

As for the authorities not wanting to admit to them getting away. There’s no way the Marshall service, FBI and prison authorities would all collude to cover up 3 potentially armed and dangerous criminals being on the run just to save face. It would be much worse for the investigators’ reputation to allow that rather than saying they found no evidence.
