“Honestly, it’s not that bad. It could be worse, right?” she said of the theory, according to OK Magazine.

Reflecting on the theory that originated in the early 2000s internet forums, Lavigne said, “I feel like I got a good one. I don’t think it’s, like, negative or anything, like, creepy.”

“Obviously, I am me, it’s so dumb,” she shared.

The 'I'm a Mess' singer also noted that body double speculations are common when it comes to singers.

"I think that they've done that with other artists. I'm not the only one. I think, like, other people have that," said Lavigne.

"Well, I'm here, and I'm here in Brazil," she addressed the speculations.

In a 2022 interview with Galore Magazine, Lavigne humorously remarked on the theory as she explained, “Doesn’t everyone constantly say that I literally look the same as I always have?”

“It’s funny because everyone says I look the same, but then there’s that. That doesn’t make any sense," she continued.

"Also, how random? When people bring it up — and it’s been brought up to me for, like, years, that there’s this conspiracy theory that I’m not me or something? I’m a clone? … I don’t know, it’s just the weirdest rumor," Lavigne added.

Avril Lavigne's short-lived romance with Tyga

Lavigne also made headlines following the end of her brief romance with Tyga.

“They had a lot of fun and laughs together but it ran out of steam. It was a mutual decision to go their separate ways," a source shared, reported OK Magazine.

Lavigne and the rapper were first rumored to be together in February 2023, just weeks after she broke off her engagement to singer Mod Sun.

“[Lavigne and Tyga] never put a label on it, and Avril is way too flighty right now to even think about getting serious with anyone,” claimed the source.
