What is Criminal Minds: Evolution?

Criminal Minds: Evolution is a continuation and expansion of the beloved Criminal Minds franchise, which blends serialized elements into the series format. The original Criminal Minds series, which ran on CBS from 2005-2020, follows the FBI’s Behavioral Analysis Unit (BAU) – a best-of-the-best team that profiles the worst of the worst. Criminal Minds: Evolution sees the return of the BAU.

In the last season of Criminal Minds: Evolution, the elite team of criminal profilers comes up against its greatest threat yet: an unknown subject (UnSub) who uses the recent pandemic to build a network of serial killers. As the world opens back up and the network goes operational, the BAU is forced to hunt each killer down, one murder at a time. But no sooner do they hone in on the psychopath at the heart of the serial killing network than that psychopath captures one of their own …

In the new season, the BAU investigates the deadly mystery of GOLD STAR, a phrase connected to a powerful secret. As the conspiracy unfolds, the team is met with an unexpected complication when serial killer Elias Voit negotiates a deal that transfers him to federal custody in the BAU’s own backyard. The team faces its biggest threat yet and cannot emerge unscathed from the mind-bending consequences.
