Patna: Braving the scorching heat, anxious parents and students have started queuing up at the office counters of prominent city schools to get the prospectus and application forms for Class XI admissions.
Private schools in the city have started the admission process for Class XI following the declaration of Class X results by the Central Board of Secondary Education and the Council for the Indian School Certificate Examination.Many schools have released the cutoff list for selection of candidates. Some schools, on the other hand, will select the candidates based on the entrance exam scores and interviews.

Notre Dame Academy (NDA, the first choice for many girls, has uploaded the admission form to its website. The form can be downloaded till May 15 before 12 noon. The entrance exam will be conducted by the school on May 15 and the results will be out by May 17. The entrance exam will be based on multi-choice questions.
As per the notification issued by the NDA, students who scored 90% and above in Class X would be eligible to apply for science stream (PCM and PCB), and highest aggregate 85% and above is compulsory for those planning to apply for commerce and arts streams. The cutoff is for both ICSE and CBSE students.

Fr A Christu Savarirajan SJ, principal of St Michael’s High School, said the admission form is available on the school website. “The filled forms must be submitted between 8am and 1pm within two days after the declaration of results. The entrance exams will be held on May 18,” he added. The minimum requirement for science stream is 90% overall average and 90% each in mathematics and science. For commerce, students must have 80% overall average and 80% in mathematics. For arts stream, overall average should be 80%.
At Loyola High School, admission forms will be available till May 17 (till 11.59pm). Entrance examination will be conducted on May 19, interview on May 20 and 21 and the results will be out by May 21. The cutoff for non-Loyolites is 85% each in English, mathematics and science and 80% in the same three subjects for Loyolites. For commerce, the cutoff marks is 85% in social studies and English for non-Loyolites and 80% for Loyolites while 70% is also required in mathematics for both candidates. Students applying for arts should have 80% each in English and social studies for (non-Loyolites) and 70% in similar subjects for Loyolites.
For CBSE students, the admission form for Class XI at St Joseph’s Convent High School will be available in the school office during school hours within 10 days. The filled form along with a copy of Class X report card should be submitted.
At Don Bosco Academy, the forms are available at school counters from May 8 between 8am and 12 noon. All candidates will have to appear for an entrance test followed by an interview before admission is finalized.
St Karen’s High School has already opened its portal for admission to Class XI. Direct admission will be given to those who meet the cutoff marks criteria issued by the school management for different streams.
