🙋🏼‍♀️Hi all, I am Gena and I live in Lincolnshire and come from family of Mini lovers. My first ever car was a Mini 1000 EHL395V back in the late 1980's. Followed by BHE909T in the mid nineties. Sadly they both became very rusty and were eventually scrapped... if only we had hindsight! I was an avid reader of both Mini World and Mini Magazine and liked the look of the R50 when it came out. However I was expecting my fourth child so it would have been terribly impractical. My daughter was born just after Christmas in 2001 and so I named her Mini, which she absolutely loves. I had to leave it a few years with having five children altogether but since then, I have a Mini R52 convertible which is now 20years old. A Mini F56 Cooper S which I sold as I moved onto the Motability scheme and got a Mini Cooper SE, as in the LvL3 electric model which is fantastic. Yes I would absolutely love a classic but there is no way I could get my wheelchair in one.
My parents & sister were also Mini fans. Mother started with Flower, RRC100R which was another Mini 1000 and she always planned to buy a new Mini Mayfair but for some reason she bought a Mini Metro MVO628W instead which she followed up with a Vanden Plas Metro VAL989Y. My Dad and Sister each had a Midas kit car. Dad's was Metro based Midas Gold and Karens was a Mini based Midas bronze.

Aside from all that, I am the founder of South Lincolnshire Mini Owners Club (which I started during lockdown on the 6/6/2000) and we welcome ALL Minis and Mini based kit cars. I will not have any discrimination. I have met a few horrible people at car shows who say we shouldn't have a BMW badged as a Mini, but it is my belief that many who have the newer Minis, either started with a classic or have always wanted one. We are only a small group who meet locally between Spalding and Boston usually on the second Sunday of each Month, throughout the year unless a show or event falls on the same day. We also have an early evening meet throughout the warm weather at Boston Bowl on the last Thursday of each month. We can be found on Facebook. I am not sure if I can post the link so just type South Lincolnshire Mini Owners Club into Facebook groups (not pages) and you'll find us. We usually have a mix of classic and new Minis which I am really pleased about as I still adore the classics. If anyone is from Lincolnshire or thereabouts and joins after seeing this, please let us know you are from the Mini forum. 👍🏼
